What's the deal with the "Lite" C64 version?

I've been doing some analysis of the two versions lately. There's a problem with the 'full' version of Spellbound Dizzy on the C64 other than the slow screen redraw. If you do anything that requires Dizzy's sprite to face right (walk or jump in that direction), if you pay close attention you'll noti...

do want:
1 - Magicland
2 - Fantasy World
3 - Treasure Island

don't want:
1 - Fantastic
2 - Crystal Kingdom
3 - Spellbound

Although to be fair a save feature and unlimited lives in Spellbound might make all the difference.

Hey Jamie, cool game :) Haven't played for long but its beating me so far, I'm out of practice! I spotted this on Yolkfolk.com and noticed you were using the design of Dizzy and some of the other Yolkfolk from my unfinished C64 game Transylvanian Dizzy. I'd forgotten that you asked for a copy of the...

Has anyone else noticed from the video footage that Dizzy's 'roll' mechanism is probably not going to work as before? He seems to go round too fast/move too slowly in the X axis for there to be any meaningful ground rolling going on. I'm glad this is happening though in any case.

Hej,joe,is project still alive? Also, after releasing Transylvanian Dizzy will you give a source code? If you don't plan to continue it then upload source at least...please? :v2_dizzy_cry: Maybe someone can finish it. :say_yes: I'm not sure I'd describe it as still alive - I don't plan to do anythin...

Just a thought (more of a guess because I've never used GS), could you be requesting a random number with a range of 0? In C, and in programming generally, anything/0 (divided by 0) can't be computed and will usually cause a crash or exception. Similarly, anything%0 (the remainder of something divid...

Colour-clash is a limitation of the ULA in the ZX Spectrum, the Z80 doesn't have any responsibility for generating the video display :) There's a Z80 in the Amstrad, Master System, Game Gear, Game Boy, Megadrive and even the Commodore 128, it's a general purpose microprocessor, and a very nice one a...

Thanks for all your feedback so far guys :) A few things I forgot to mention about the game in my first post . Everything in the game has been created from scratch, except for the 8x8 Dizzy font which I grabbed from the official games. It's all new code, and the scenery graphics are also drawn by me...

Transylvanian Dizzy (C64) [ON HOLD]

Hi everyone, Long time no see :) Havent been a regular visitor here in probably at least a year. At least not that I remember... Anyway, normally I don't like to show 'works in progress' but since I'm not actively working on it (and I'm not sure if that will change) I've decided to share some inform...

Yeah the twinkles are quite difficult but you just need to get used to their pattern. There are some very tough sections in the game, I've never finished it - I just get stuck at a point where it seemed like there was nothing to do, I even checked the guide but couldn't get the next step to work. Th...
