A Speed run, this weekend.

So after finishing the game over 20 times I have now decided to do a speed run on the game. I have no idea what the current record is (if there is one) but I'll do my best to finish as quickly as possible without tool assistance. I'm going to plot how I am going to do this over the week and see what will save me the most time. I've been looking on the maps and charts and been planning for a few hours, gonna play through the game a few times more this week. I OWN the game but will do this on an emulator (so I can record it and send it to speedarchives [if it goes that well]).

I will post back a few times and tell you about upcoming strategies and so on. Please tell me if there is a record ( I didn't found one on but there might still be one).

Update: I checked speed demos archive and I can not record it on a emulator so I'm going to use my DVD recorder... anyway I've been playing and figured out how to do the first part (treehouse complex) pretty fast. (won't tell you times or strategies)... :v2_dizzy_tongue2:

Welcome to the Forums :)

Dentolux from YouTube is currently doing a Hints & Tips video on Fantastic Dizzy, the Sega Genesis version commentating on what item goes where.

But if you have a speen run planned, I don't mind seeing how that goes :dizzy_cool:

Yes I saw that strategy, but I'm talking strategy like which order I should do stuff to save the most time.

Good luck with the run. Should be excellent to watch. One of the main gripes I have heard about the game is that it's pretty long for something that cannot be saved.

If you can complete the game within a reasonable time frame that complaint won't be valid. I'd wish you luck, but if you have completed the game so many times you hardly need it :v2_dizzy_happy:

I finished it in 1:02 yesterday but then I did some stupid mistakes, I should be able to go beneath one hour, played it today and I made a HUGE mistake which cost me 5 minutes or more. Total time was 1:06 or something.

Well it's finally up! Excuse me for the delay (took one week more than estimated) due to schoolwork and other things.
I had to split them up into a series of movies since youtube won't let me upload anything longer than 10 minutes. Anyway I (with my timing) finished it in 55 minutes. The audio is off-sync and I am too lazy to fix it :p
