The Book of Dizzy - unofficial book

Post by zeropolis79 » Sat Nov 15, 2014 11:16 pm

I'm working on an unofficial book on Dizzy, which will cover all the games... I will also look at the Seymour games as Seymour Goes to Hollywood was going to be a Dizzy game...

I'm working with others to securing interviews with people behind the games, including hopefully the Oliver Twins.

I'm aiming for a publication date of Summer 2015.

A print edition is being considered but will mostly be an e-book.

I've got all the games via emulator but am looking for physical copies of most of the games.. If anyone can help me, I will be thankful..

If you want to interview this site's leader, Andrew Joseph for your book, I'm sure he won't mind. :)
He may also have any information that I don't know, even give you an insight to Yolkfolk's history.

But It's your call. :)

Physical copies for the games maybe difficult to get hold of. But every now and then, some games are up for sale online.

How's the book going? I'd be well up for something like this, and have even pondered doing it myself!

If it was a Kickstarter, I'd pledge.
Deejay - Proprietor, Binary Tweed; Cloud/PaaS/NoSQL/Big Data Consultant
binarytweed.com - New games that are a bit like old games, but better
Clover: A Curious Tale - New & improved, on PC & XBLIG
IndieCity - Play a different game

Work on this is progressing very well.

I have been promised the co-operation of the Oliver Twins themselves which will include access to files and other rare material.

I've also been promised the chance to interview Treasure Island Dizzy C64 composer Matt Gray, Dizzy Down the Rapids Spectrum/Amstrad graphic artist Paul Griffths and the chance to interview Big Red Software.

I'm aiming for a publication towards the end of the year....

Near that time, I hope to have a competition involving DizzyAge to mark it with a cash prize (not much though)..
