ZX Spectrum Next
ZX Spectrum Next
The ZX Spectrum Next (and Next plus) is now live on Kickstarter.
looks like the best 'remake' we've had and one to last, although the Vega+ if it's ever made is a great little portable device.

The 64 still hasn't been made either, there seems be quite a risk with there retro projects.

Re: ZX Spectrum Next
It's a real spectrum, you can connect all your original Spectrum accessories (mico-drives and so on) load games up from cassette, you can code and program like the old one, you can even just buy the circuit board and fit into an original spectrum case.
But as it's 2017, it has HDMI and other connections, mouse and external keyboard support, WiFi, SD slot and various other upgrades.
Like the Vega it's an official release but while the Vega was a games console the next is a computer. It does everything your old Speccy does plus built for modern use and development, and is also designed to run new Spectrum games. You can increase it's ram and processing power if required.
It's mostly appealing to hardcore fans and those who want to code and those wanting to experiment with it.
It's out of my price range, and i'm not that interested in coding or learning to code on a Spectrum.

So everything is thought up long ago. And that Dizzy-7 Remake 2017 hasn't gone at first to VEGA+. Just curve emulator, appears have made.
In Russian, include the translator, you will understand what the author speaks about.

Re: ZX Spectrum Next
" DREAMWORLD POGIE gets a Next version for free to all backers thanks to kind heart of the Oliver Twins and the code wizardry of Lyndon Sharp, making use of the Next's sprites and hardware scrolling."
They should just reach that goal..
70 hours to go.. i'm trying hard not to kick that pledge button...
