PAK files

Post by Gary S » Thu Sep 20, 2018 11:09 pm

Does anybody know how to open a PAK file? I've tried WinZip, PakExplorer, Sprite Explorer and all the other things which supposedly open them and they're all useless. Can PAK files actually be opened?

I take it you're referring to the .pak files the DizzyAGE games come with?
If so then this thread should really be in the "DizzyAGE Help" forum section, but no worries.

You will need the pak.exe file that comes with the DizzyAGE Editor itself.

It's complicated for me to describe but you can use the pak.exe file to unpack games from the folder with the .pak file and unpack all of the game's contents into another folder.
Although, some DizzyAGE games cannot be 'unpacked' as they are password protected by the game's author as they do not wish to have anybody hacking into their games.

Hope this helps.
