Spellbound Dizzy Lite (DizzyAGE Remake) [PROGRESS THREAD]

Post by pteal79 » Sun Nov 20, 2011 2:06 pm

The next game in Yolkfolk.com's remakes is on its way;

Spellbound Dizzy Lite.

Like all our other remakes this will be an authentic recreation of the original -- but without the bugs the original had! (At least i hope so!).

The game is scheduled for a christmas release.

I'm really looking forward to this :)

I remember playing the original Lite version, and they got really lazy with the animating, none of the characters (apart from Dizzy) and the water didn't animate and the windy shaft was missing the little white stones going upwards.

Going from room to room was annoying too as you had to wait about 3 seconds to appear in the next room!

Weren't you originally planning to include it along with the full version Peter?

EDIT:: actually, having watched the trailer, it looks almost like a completely different game!

I did and possibly will.

The map was made a few years back, when i did the full spellbound map.

but i decided to copy it out to a new map file and write the lite game first. I can then use a lot of the code (inventory, windy shaft, lifebar) as a basis to do the full version. After getting back into the swing of dizzyage coding i felt doing the full version of spellbound first maybe a bit too much, but it will get done!

:v2_dizzy_thumbsup: good stuff!

Glad you're getting back into DizzyAGE (I know just how long converting your old games to DizzyAGE v2 must have taken!)

Ok the game is completed and ready for a christmas day release.

But there is one more thing...
Like the original the game includes all the original scroll messages, but for this release i've decided to do something a little different.

I'm going to include scroll messages put forward by members of the forum. I have 10 scrolls that i want to fill, so just reply to this thread with your suggestions it could be an advert for one of your games, an amusing comment or anything that you like!

The 10 that i deem to be the best will be included. The closing date will be 20th Decemeber.

Good Luck :D
