Magic Maniax 6 v2.4 [DOWNLOADABLE]

Post by Adz.M » Sun Nov 30, 2014 12:31 pm

Just in time for December. :p

For this game, I've used AndyUK's Platform engine.
Which means that Dizzy can now jump and walk up ramps just like in a normal Dizzy game.
The only downsides with the engine is again, unable to climb ladders and there's no horizontal and vertical lifts. Not much I can do with my limited knowledge here.

:egg: DOWNLOAD VIA YOLKFOLK.COM v2.4

STORY:
Many strange things happen in the Kingdom of Zakeria.
Things that even Rockwart the troll thinks is strange.
Today, being no exception.

As many stories go - Where there's a villain, there's always a hero!
.....Once he's out of bed of course.

CONTROLS:
- MAIN MENU/OPTIONS CONTROLS
ARROW KEYS UP, DOWN, LEFT and RIGHT
ENTER - Confirm Option

- INGAME CONTROLS (Default)
LEFT and RIGHT Arrows - Walk
RIGHT CTRL - Jump

- ADDITIONAL CONTROLS (Only on certain stages)
ARROW KEYS LEFT, RIGHT, UP AND DOWN

The ingame controls can be changed by pressing F5 anytime during the game.

ENTER - Pause/Unpause game
ESCAPE - Quits to Main Menu during gameplay.

F2 - Resets game
F5 - Redefine Keys

PASSWORDS:
The password system can only be accessed via the game's Main Menu option.
You will find passwords after finishing one chapter.

HOW TO PLAY:
The first level of the game acts as a tutorial, read the scrolls found in the game to get to grips with how the game works.

KNOWN BUGS:
- Dizzy tends to slip on slopey platforms and on the edges of boulders, It's down to the way AndyUK coded the platform engine.
- Before you run this game, make sure you don't have any other Programs running in the background.
One of the open Programs could appear blocking the game from view.
- There are problems where the scrolling appears wavey/wobbly in the game, the issue is heavily visible on a few levels.

If you are able to help me with the mentioned bugs, please let me know by contacting me here.
You will have your name mentioned in the game's Credits.
(There could be more bugs in the game that I haven't mentioned here.)

Hi Adz
Really enjoying the game but am having a problem with the password. I've found the first one and gone to the main menu and entered it but when I press 'enter' nothing happens. Should it take you to the point in the game where you found the password?

Yes.

All the passwords should work.

Are you sure It's the right password you're trying to enter? I can only think that it can sometimes be tricky to tell the difference between Dizzy's 8-bit image and his Doppelganger's altered image.

v2.0 is now up.

:egg: The game now plays in full screen, possibly a controversial move for anyone with widescreen monitors. But I think it works great.
:egg: Altered the Yolkfolk's sprites.
:egg: Some minor alterations to some levels

Any Facebook users, you can see some extra screenshots on Yolkfolk's page.

v2.3 should now be up.

- Fixed screen resolution so the game no longer appears stretched on widescreen monitors.
- Removed strange yellow tint on some characters' eyes.
