Full version of Spud's Quest outside Steam?

I just have a little question: does anybody know if the full version of "Spud's Quest" is available somewhere outside Steam? I just dislike Steam, I purposefully avoid all new games which require downloading another program (all the DRMs), because I want D-Fend Reloaded to be my only program for opening games and storing screenshots.
And, if it isn't available outside Steam: actually i already tried to contact Chris Davis and ask if I could buy the game directly from him, but he didn't respond. Does anyone know how to contact him? Note: for me pretty much only the good ol' e-mail is available, I don't have a Facebook account, for example... (One game developer already didn't understand why I couldn't contact him through Facebook... and I just HATE how it's perceived as almost obligatory, to the point of suggesting half-seriously that people who don't use Facebook may be psychopaths...)

I've bought from Humble a bunch of times but have never heard of Gamersgate before (found it through a site I use to check prices, https://isthereanydeal.com/search/?q=sp ... spudsquest).

Wow, thanks a lot! I have checked out GOG previously, but they don't have it - strange that I haven't thought of Humble Bundle, because I also know it well, I have already bought a few games there.

I've been using GOG for a while, but never heard of either of these sites. I've had a peep and some of the games for sale look rather fun ...but I do have a question:

A lot of the games are quoted as being provided with a Steam key (needing an account) and DRM free. No way will I get involved in Steam as I've heard so many bad things, and don't like the idea of having to download other programs (as mentioned by Nowhere Girl). So, the question is that if I actually buy anything from humble with the 'steam key & drm free' comment can I just download the game and then play it like I do with GOG games?
