5 Things I hate about Tuca

Postby Apep » Fri Feb 29, 2008 5:45 am

No. 1 (All of us have done this at least once)

Image

No. 2 (please tell me I'm not the only one who's done this)

Image

No. 3 (Thankfully I've only done this once)

Image

No. 4 (Not an issue if you happen to have the pick axe in your inventory,...I didn't)

Image

No. 5 (I saved the best for last,....this is my all time worst pet peeve, prolly cos it's close to the endgame and it's very frustrating when you do it)

How many others here have found themselves stuck/trapped in these locations?

I've had the misfortune of encountering #2, #4, and #5. I only ever encountered #1 in the original Spectrum/Amstrad game, never triggered the trap in the DizzyAGE remake. #3 is a new one to me.

All of these were done on Peters remake, some of them I don't remember running accross in the Amstrad version but it's been about 20 years or so since I played it...so chances are I wouldn't remember even if I did.

I do remember No.1 on the Amstrad...but I also seem to remember the trap not re-setting after you die(it does in the re-make which is nice, sacrifice one life and you're good to go.)

Again,...I could be wrong on that 20 years is a lot of time to fade memory.

all the images you've posted except #1 are down to incompatabilitys between the way dizzyage handles maps and dizzys bounding box causing him to get stuck in these places.

I will release an update tomorrow that will 'block' dizzy from getting stuck into these places.

In that case I'm glad I could be of some assistance.

Even more glad you didn't take offence at my method of bug reporting.

I'm pretty certain it wasn't possible to get to #3 on the original speccy version. I mean, obviously I could see the opening but could find no way of getting there from above.

For the record, down the mine, somewhere near where you get the can of 3 in 1 oil there's a "hidden passageway" with if I remember rightly, a bat and a life, but no way of getting there.

Unless I'm mistaken?
