				     by Andy Goulding
				    with DizzyAGE v2.4

Thank you for downloading my labour of love! It's a game almost 20 years in the making (in that
I started sketching maps and ideas in the backs of my school books after playing Fantastic Dizzy
on my friend's Master System. Cue years of fascination with the Spectrum games and trying to make
something / ANYTHING remotely similar, abandoning it all come puberty, making half-hearted attempts
with Flash and DIV Games Studio among others, and finally discovering the awesome DizzyAGE!). The
actual game took me about 7 months. It's been really fun and I hope you like it!

VERSION HISTORY
===============
1.1 - Bug fixes - no more crashing when using the wrong item on the boulder, or walking by the
      pirate ship with scuba gear.
    - No more unreachable diamond above the Lost Viking!
    - Table legs are no longer called chair legs! (Silly me...)
    - Changed some dialogue to make a certain clue a little less vague.
    - General clean-up of a few dodgy walls and ceilings.

STORY
=====
Oh no! Our hero has made some bad investments, fallen victim to various phishing scams and Ponzi
schemes, run afoul of the taxman and is completely bankrupt! He tried turning to the Yolkfolk for
help but they were too old / sleepy / ditzy / deaf / stoned / kidnapped to be of any assistance. He
was evicted from his home and thrown in debtor's jail. Luckily, he has already proven himself a
master jail-get-out-of-er. This will be just the beginning, however, for Dizzy has dreams of bouncing
back and becoming the richest landowner this world has ever seen!

CONTROLS
========
Z+X / arrow keys - walk
SPACE / UP / K - jump
ENTER - pick up / drop / use objects, talk, enter / exit buildings
ESC / Q - menu
F1 - credits
F9 - mute sound (can also adjust volume through the menu)
F10 - toggle full-screen (I only learned about this today!! Recommended!)

REQUIREMENTS:
=============
- PC compatible system with 3D video board (GeForce2 or above).
- Windows operating system and DirectX 9 or OpenGL installed.
- For audio a sound card is required (DirectSound compatible).
- For rumble effect use a gamepad or joystick with force feedback.

TROUBLESHOOTING:
================
By default, the game runs in 640x480 windowed mode (scale x2).
It should have sound enabled, keyboard and joystick support.
The game uses dizzy.ini for keeping it's settings.
You can adjust them from the provided setup, or even manually.
If you have troubles with your joystick or gamepad, try to
switch it to analog mode, calibrate it, or edit the dead zone
values in dizzy.ini with higher values.
If you experience troubles running the game,
try checking the log messages (enable them from setup),
visit the official web site for details, or contact the author.

HINTS AND TIPS
==============
- Dizzy can carry up to 4 items at once.
- No item is useless, but 4 are not essential.
- There are 30 diamonds to collect, to fully complete the game. None are hidden anywhere fiendish!
- Only the killer flies hurt Dizzy; there are plenty of nice ones!
- There are two ways to move back to the left of the map quickly. Mallory and John can help you!
- There is only one place worth getting drunk at. Ben thought so, too!

MUSIC
=====
Rockin' - Alberto Gonzales - The Light Corridor (Infogrames, 1991) OST
Stayin' Alive - The Beegees (Synthesia cover by SynthesiaManiac)
We Like to Party! - Vengaboys
Never Ending Story - Limahl (Synthesia cover by HylianWarrior01)

Various sound effects taken from freesound.org!

SPECIAL THANKS

- The folks at Yolkfolk.com, particularly Steve Rennie and Simon Rice, for all your help and
patience, and Jamie Delta (if you're still with us!) for your YouTube tutorials that got me started.
