Game Hopping Dizzy
by Steve 'Grandad' Rennie
Made with DizzyAGE v2.4
February 2020
version 1.1 (cos I'm a total dick and left the secret puzzle solution in full view!)
version 1.2 (accidentally made a bit of decorative grass a diamond)

Storyline:
For their anniversary Daisy has booked and paid for a weekend of good food, drink and pampering
at the Hotel Posh and expects a diamond ring from Dizzy as an anniversary present.
She has also asked Grandad to give the game a little extra twist so that Dizzy has to use all of
his skills as an adventurer to be able to buy the diamond ring and get to the Hotel.

Notes:
Save often! Some 'things' kill Dizzy and he loses a life, other things give him a score of minus
one every time he touches them. In general, spikes and mechanical stuff kill dizzy and insects,
birds, fish etc make him lose points. Stars give a score of plus two points ...but there aren't
very many of them. Lose three lives or get a score of minus 250 and it's game over.
Use action/return to enter doorways etc and arrow keys to drive the mine cart.
Dizzy has got slightly fatter pockets so he can normally carry up to 5 items.

Requirements:
PC compatible system with 3D video board (GeForce2 or above).
Windows operating system and DirectX 9 or OpenGL installed.
For audio a sound card is required (DirectSound compatible).
For rumble effect use a gamepad or joystick with force feedback.

Gameplay:
Use the left and right arrow keys to move in that direction and the up arrow key to jump.
...unless you're a total dinosaur, then use Z/LEFT, X/RIGHT, K/UP, for movement and
SPACE for jump, not forgetting to say "I'm a total saddo" every time you press one of these keys.
Use the enter/return key for action and the escape key for loading, saving etc

If present, a gamepad or a joystick can also be used. But does anybody still use a joystick?
You can mute the sound with F9, toggle windowed/full screen mode with F10,
and show the game FPS with F11. F1 will display the About box (windowed only).
Use PrintScreen or ctrl+PrintScreen to save a screenshot.

Troubleshooting:
By default, the game runs in 640x480 windowed mode (scale x2). It should have sound
enabled, keyboard and joystick support. The game uses dizzy.ini for keeping it's settings.
You can adjust them from the provided setup, or even manually. If you have troubles with
your joystick or gamepad, try to switch it to analog mode, calibrate it, or edit the dead zone
values in dizzy.ini with higher values - or stop being a total dick and use the keyboard like
normal people! If you experience troubles running the game, try checking the log messages
(enable them from setup), visit the official web site for details, or get yourself a computer
that didn't come out of the ark.
