About the Game
Race through 15 sugar-coated level of arcade action with everyone's loveable pet fluffle - Pogie!

It won't be easy as enemies lie in wait.
But Pogie has a special power when he swallows a fizzola!
Trivia & History
"Dreamworld Pogie" is an arcade game that was first mentioned on the back of the "Aladdin Deck Enhancer" box, under the "Coming Soon" section.

Created by Philip and Andrew Oliver (The Oliver Twins).

It was originally due to be released in late 1992/early 1993, but it was abandoned because the Oliver Twins had to focus on the release of "Dizzy the Adventurer" for the Aladdin Deck Enhancer.
Camerica going out of business and the Oliver Twins leaving Codemasters in 1994 also sealed the game's fate.
Plans to port the game onto the 8-bit Sega systems was scrapped.

In July 2011, The Dizzy Fansite released the game's "source code" to the public as a gift from the Oliver Twins (although its disputed that it isn't called a source code).
With thanks to programmer Łukasz Kur, a prototype ROM of the game became available to download for the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES).

On the 15th December 2016, a fully completed version of Dreamworld Pogie for the NES was released to the public during the official launch of the "Let's Go Dizzy" book.
With special thanks once again going to Łukasz Kur, Andrew Joseph from The Dizzy Fansite, and Piotr Gratkiewicz (Pit) for the game's new artwork.
Dreamworld's website launched on the same day.

A Spectrum Next port of this game had been in development by Lyndon Sharp.
But the entire status of this port currently remains a mystery.

In October 2020, the NES version was re-released as part of a compilation called "The Oliver Twins Collection" for the Evercade.

Dreamworld Pogie itself is the first game in the Dizzy series where you play as Pogie, the Yolkfolk's pet fluffle.
While it doesn't come with a story, the game appears to take place in a strange world dreamt by Pogie.

The objective of each level (15 levels altogether) is to help Pogie reach the exit while avoiding enemies and hazards along the way.

There is also a 2 player mode, where the 2nd player can only play after player 1 loses a life, and so on.
Player 2 takes control of a female fluffle called Rosie.

On each level, the player will find many magic stars, collecting a total of 100 stars will give the player an extra life.

Other items include a strange purple object called a Fizzola that transforms Pogie into a monster, making him invincible for a short time before changing back to normal.
There is a noticeable glitch in the music once Pogie changes back.

There are eggs found in each level that act as checkpoints when touched.
When a life is lost, the player will re-start next to that egg.

You will also find small pieces of candy hidden inside clown boxes that can all be collected for a high score.
