About the Game
Dizzy and Daisy strolled through the enchanted forest without a care in the world.

But suddenly, the Evil King's trolls snared poor Daisy!
She was sent to Wizard Weird's Tallest Tower, while Dizzy was dragged away and thrown into the deepest, darkest, dankest of the King's Dungeons in the bowels of Fantasy World.

Dizzy was frightened.
Who knew what fate awaited him?
And he still hadn't done this week's homework!

But then he remembered that he had a fresh green apple that he had planned to give to his teacher to escape detention, and he cheered up.

And there was some bread and water on the table!
A cunning plan began to brew in his mind...

But Dizzy can't do everything on his own... you must help him!
Trivia & History
Fantasy World Dizzy("Dizzy 3") is the third adventure game in the series.

Created by Philip and Andrew Oliver (The Oliver Twins) and published by Codemasters for the Sinclair ZX Spectrum, Amstrad CPC 464, Commodore 64, Amiga, Atari ST and PC DOS in October 1989.

The game was also released as part of both the 8-bit and 16-bit “Dizzy Collection” compilations.

In 2019, AtariAge re-released this game for the Atari Jaguar.

Fantasy World introduced a new and more simple inventory system, which was a huge improvement compared to the one used in Treasure Island.
This new system gave players the option of choosing which item to drop, aswell as the infamous “Exit and Don’t Drop” option which was re-used in the later adventure games.

You start the game with 3 lives, which was already welcoming to Dizzy fans since Treasure Island only had one life.
However, you can only pickup 2 items at a time at this early stage of the game.
Once you get passed the ‘wide-eyed dragon’, there will be a carrier bag waiting on the other side that allows Dizzy to carry up to 4 items.

Another new feature is being able to talk to other characters.
Including the Yolkfolk; Daisy (Dizzy’s girlfriend), Dylan, Grand Dizzy, Denzil and Dozy.

Talking to other characters is required to complete the game.
Some need your help finding certain items, which sometimes leads you to being rewarded with another item that will help you progress further into the game.

Like Treasure Island, there are 30 gold coins to collect in order to fully complete the game.
Some of the coins are hidden behind railings, clumps of leaves and a window frame.

Infamously, one coin is in a deceptively hidden room underneath the pier called “The Amazing Illusion”.
Accessing the room and getting out of it required a lot of frustrating ‘pixel-perfect’ jumps on the 8-bit versions.

Another frustrating thing to keep in mind on the 8-bit versions involves “Daisy’s Prison” in the cloud castle.
Once you find a way to cover the daggers up, make sure you collect the gold coin under the table first before touching the switch to lower Daisy’s cage.
If you lower the cage first, the coin will be impossible to reach.

One amusing item in the game was “A Large Round Hole”.
Picking up the hole results in all the items Dizzy is carrying being dropped automatically.

“Mystery World Dizzy”, a game that has similarities to Fantasy World was released on the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) in April 2017.
