Please write feedback in this forum or send me email from the DizzyAGE website. I am interested in any kind of bugs, problems, crushes, weird or suspicious stuff. So, any support is much appreciated.
Thank you! Alex.
PS. I'm moving house, like Jamie  so I might not be so fast in respose for a few days, but I'll try to check messages daily.
Thought I would try out your new beta but I am having display problems. First I tested the editor on my laptop (I like to create my games whilst watching TV). The grid displayed okay, but the menu icons were invisible as were the drop down menus. The tool tips displayed okay so there was some funtionality. I then tested it on my desktop PC. Once again the menu's didn't show plus the map grid and tool tips were not present.
The included games all ran fine.
I have attached two screenshots. The first is from my laptop and the other from my desktop PC.
The specs of the computers used are:
Laptop ------- OS: XP Home SP2 Prosessor : Celeron 1.4 GHz Memory : 256 Mb Graphics : SiS Mirage Graphics 64 Mb Shared Direct X : 9.0c
Desktop PC ----------- OS : XP Pro SP2 Prosessor : Athlon 1.9 GHz Memory : 256 Mb Graphics : S3 Gpraphics ProSavage 32 Mb Shared Direct X : 9.0c
Graphic card drivers on both machines are up to date.
I hope it is possible to resolve this for the final release as I would like a crack at another Dizzy game
For the editor, try both DirectX and OpenGL by changing the options_videoapi option to 0 and then to 1, in the editor.ini file. Let me know if they both have the same problem.
Also, send me on email the editor.log file, in both cases if they both have problems.
If anyone else had this kind of problems please let me know.
I knew the OpenGL support will come in handy one day {dizzy}
Anyway, if you want to help me fix the DirectX version, send me the editor.log with the problem (Directx api=0) on email. Then I might send you a few builds of the editor, to see if I can find what causes the problem on your video boards. The idea is to get both APIs to work on as many hardwares as possible.
Again, if anyone else have similar problem with the v2.0 editor, let me know pls. Thanks.
I found someone with a GeForce2 MX that have trouble with both the editor and the games. {yolkfolk}:sob: The good news is that I have access to this guy's computer, and I will most certainly find the cause. {yolkfolk}:animwink:

I have problems at least with the games and demos (will do more tests the next days). All I see is a black screen with one or two red rectangles (both windows and full screen), while the music plays correctly. Since I have a GeForce2 MX it's probably the same problem than your friend. I'll keep you informed if I find something in my computer, and confirm if it's fixed if you find the problem in your friend's comp.
Yeah, I'll find a solution for this problem, since those GeForce2 MX video cards were really something nice - I owned one myself in the past and I was very pleased with it.
But for now, my PC is off - probably one power cable (that burned with nice sparks effects) was the cause {yolkfolk}:tired:
Glad to hear it! As promised, I've done some more tests and found that with OpenGL everything works (i.e. making api=1 in the dizzy.ini file). Hope this gives a small clue to know where the error is (I have DirectX 9.0c installed).
I suspect it's the same problem with the implementation of the DirectX video module. I'll let you know when I upload a new version with this thing fixed, because it does so on my laptop too, and it's only a matter of finding time to fix it. So don't worry!
Lately I wrote a bit of documentation... It's a "GS9 Programming Language" book that should be very usefull for people that never programmed before (similar to a C programming book). And it's gonna be part of the DizzyAGE v2 documentation along another books.
When this is ready, I plan to fix the DirectX problem mentioned above and do the setup application for v2.0.
And after that the rest of the documentation. And after that... And...
i notice you can now use K and M to move dizzy up and down...
i'm assuming this is for the swimming function.
is there anyway to use it to move him up and down anyway? i'm thinking of disabling the jump and fall functions, and just using up and down....
yes, i'm thinking of an RPG-type game. unfortunately, even getting rid of all the fall code doesn't seem to stop him falling. i think it may be hard-wired into the engine or somthing like that...
It shoud have the DirectX video bug fixed. Those who experienced it, please let me know if everything works fine now. I fixed some things in render and now my laptop (Ati X1400) and my friend's GeForce2 work fine.
The setup is ready too.
Also, I implemented in the default template the auto save and restore music, so the GetLocationMusic function is not needed anymore. It saves the music id and even it's current possition in the saved game, and it also handles the player respawn situation. So from now one, you can just do MusicPlay(tuneid) wherever you want.
See the readme file for all updates.
And I know the winter is far away (in fact it is damn hot these days) but I added a small tech demo, as a bonus
