I started playing the games on cassette (they only cost £2.50!!) when I had an Amstrad when I was 10. Then I got a Sega and fell in love with games such as `Treasure Island Dizzy'.
I miss the games SO much. I know they were a bit `childish' but rather than mindless fighting games like they all seem to be today with their bullshit graphics, they involved following clues and solving riddles and exploring whole worlds and meeting all sorts if characters (`Grandpa Dizzy') that were either adversaries or folks you could gain clues from.
I loved the atmosphere of the games.
There are no modern games like this, although `Legend Of Zelda: Windwaker'
and a Pacman game a few years ago came a bit close.
