Hi all.
Did anybody ever play the Flash game at www.thegerbilcage.com?
I didn't get much feebback about it and was wondering whether I should write a bigger game WITHOUT annoying music!!
Let me know please.
Thanks guys.

i rememeber that from the old forums. completed it too. {yolkfolk}:delight:
I bet you cheated!!! {yolkfolk}
Flash Dizzy games is a good idea. Hope you make more.
Good morning all!
So you want me to write more Flash games Zurc?!?
Brilliant! That's what I like to hear! {yolkfolk}
As I am new to posting threads and stuff (I'm at work - good job my boss isn't in yet {yolkfolk}:delight: - oh, here he is!! :surprise: ) then I was wondering how to set up a "vote" on this thread.
Basically, if I could see interest from about 20 / 30+ different people (maybe tracked as a voting system or something) then that would *hopefully* give me enough "ammunition" to influence my girlfriend into letting me crack on with creating more Dizzy games ("But baby, loads of people out there are thirsty for online Dizzy games! They need them!"). {yolkfolk}:bigwink:
Since I created the online version of the game, my Flash skills are much better and I would have to rewrite the whole engine of the Dizzy game as it now embarrases me (I was learning at the time!) . I am currently working on another non-Dizzy game which is currently TOP SECRET and will hopefully be uploaded end of June! {yolkfolk}:delight:
Come on guys - I need to know if any of you want more Flash games! Help me out here!
Cheers!
Working on a new game for June? Cool even if it isn't Dizzy based let us know so we can try it out.
There is a poll option on this board so I guess you can use that to collate votes. Dunno how to use it though.
Take care though. We don't want you to get sacked by your boss and dumped by your GF just cos you start working on a Dizzy game :teethy:
hi gerbil
yes i would like to see more flash dizzy's games {yolkfolk}
im lerning flash myself and would be very greatfull of some help if that is ok with you.
i think your game is very good
all the very best
Very nice indeed. Love the Speccy loading at the beginning {yolkfolk}:delight:
Morning all!
Zurc,
Thanks for the feedback on the game.
When I was creating this games years ago I thought about some fiendish plots to put in there to "throw" the players. Looks like they worked! {dizzy}:dizwink: Keep at it. Or do what I used to do in the old Dizzy games on the Spectrum and try EVERY object on EVERY bit of scenery/object in EVERY screen - you'll get there in the end!!! :teethy:
- Yes the game is aimed at *********** ******** and the big bosses of *********** ******** have given me the go ahead - but they want to see a draft version first before agreeing to it so I'm well busy at home at the moment!
- Boss doesn't mind as long as I get my work done! :teethy:
As for the gf situation - Bib Brother has started again so gives me the perfect oppertunity to get some solid coding done! :teethy:
Pamuch,
Of course I will help you with any Flash queries. However this will have to be by email as I don't have internet access at home so could be a long process to answer one question, if you get what I mean.
But I will help if I can.
Mayboy,
I thought people would like that bit! {yolkfolk}:delight:
Pity that the game isn't as good however!!!
Thanks guys for your responses!
Yay I completed it. Bribery wins the day {yolkfolk}
Bribery?!?
You didn't use the cheat did you?!? {yolkfolk}:meh:
Nice game btw! Would you be intrested to write a flash dizzy game with me as a joint project? Maybe original sprites? Bigger Maps? Etc! Or even original remakes!
Hell yeah that sounds like a good idea!
Just to let you know, I have recently (last week) moved house and still living out of cardboard boxes/bags (that's plastic bags - not cardboard bags). :teethy:
This means that I won't be able to get internet access for a few months until I get to see what money is like to see if I can afford to go online (which hopefully I will be able to do).
Also this means that I am busy a lot of the time. I'm redesigning my website and giving it a funky 3D look to it (I'm going to change the menu system etc).
But this will take ages!
Let me know what you have in mind for the joint project and I'm sure we could put our heads together and do something ace! {yolkfolk}
A bit of a private message for a public forum but I don't mind!
i like the game so far. very traditional despite the new graphical look.
just one thing - the dizzy character. he looks annoyingly happy. it doesn't feel like my old chum Diz. {yolkfolk}:music:
The reason why I drew my own Dizzy is because flash graphics are much less memory gobbling than bitmaps (although nowadays this probably doesn't really matter).
Anybody can rip graphics for games, it's really easy to do but doing your own gives it your own personal touch, which is what I prefer.
Plus if you was to keep with ripped graphics then you can only really use the objects found in games that have them (although I suppose you could draw your own in paintbrush or something).
Also as for the smiling Dizzy - I'm used to playing it on the Spectrum and I prefer the 8 bit platform for the Dizzy games. From memory I can always remembering him smiling!
Thanks guys.
@gerbilbyte Sorry to bump a 19 year old thread, but the game is now back on Yolkfolk and available to download.
:egg: DOWNLOAD GAME
To be able to play this game, you will need to install Ruffle – a Flash emulator.
:egg: Download Ruffle
Never learned what the cheat mode was.
