Hi guys, while I am a new user here I have enjoyed the Dizzy series since I was a young nipper back on the amiga, while I want Dizzy to make an official appearance in 3d I think it is unlikely for Blitz and Codemasters to do so now.

So I have took it upon myself to make a fresh faced Dizzy and finally give him room to breath.

What I have in mind would be a Dizzy adventure, however there will be elements such as:

  • Questing: Follow the main quest or branch off onto mini quests and tasks for rewards.
Wardrobe: Dont like what your hero is wearing? Then outfit him in hats and other items that can be gained through mini quests and other places.
  • Combat Scenearios: Sometimes to bring peace you need to fight, Dizzy can now find help in his friends, similar to an Overlord kind of control system, Dizzy will be able to command a yolkfolk to help turn the tide of battle.
  • Mini Games: Unlock these while playing through the main game, these will involve such things as other characters quests and some fun little puzzle games.
  • Voice Acting: Hear Dizzy's cries of Glea (or pain  ) along with other characters.

And many more.

Also a possibility would be online play, however that would be a later addition if it proves to be a popular idea.

While we dont have much in the way of content to show you yet, the script is being worked on, along with early coding and design. If we have some stuff to show by the end of the night then you will defeintly be the first to see.

Sounds promising my friend. Looking forward to seeing some screenshots and previews of your project here. So, this online play, would be... Multiplayer, right? And if you were to make Multiplayer, you would add other characters eh? hmmm

Correct, maybe a selection of yolkfolk, and some featured characters, maybe even an option to create your own yolkfolk avatar through various customisation options and gear found throughout the main game {eggs2}:denzil:

Perhaps a race though the forest similar to Sonic R..
Like a 3d version of Adz's Dizzy R series

I un-sticked it because I didn't think you'd be looking into it again, but it you want it as a sticky again then feel free to do so
Now a 3D Dizzy R sounds like a great idea.

Hi again guys, just thought I would keep you updated on the progress:

New Features:
Inventory items will have weight so you can effectily carry an unlimeted amount of objects based on there set weight, instead of being limited to 3 slots.
So for example you may start off with a base total weight of 5 and you come across a cannonball which happens to weigh 5, so this would be the only thing you could carry, on the flip side say paper had a weight of 0.1 you could carry 50 pieces. Strength upgrades so you can carry more later on.

Currently we are thinking of having 4 worlds each having a long involved main quest and many side quests to earn awards.

The tutorial level has been planned out totally, so expect this to be up here sometime soon as a playable teaser. The tutorial level is part of world one yet will only serve as a fraction of that world to introduce you to the controls and the puzzles, there will still be much to explore in the world after the tutorial.

Expect a shot of 3d Dizzy soon, maybe as early as tomorrow

Voice Acting: Hear Dizzy’s cries of Glea (or pain   ) along with other characters.

Is this really a good idea? I can't really see giving Dizzy a voice being a positive thing, and even less in an amateur project. That is unless you were planning to do it in a fashion like the 3D Zelda games and perhaps Banjo Kazooie, where the characters don't actually speak, they just make occasional noises while talking. Personally, that's the only way I could see this part working out. So I'd take this into careful consideration.

Good luck with your project, and I hope to see some screens sometime soon.
