i just popped in to say hi everyone {yolkfolk}:dizzy: I've been a big fan of Dizzy since the 80's, i found this community and DizzyAge purely by accident! I make (well try to) Flash games and i was looking at ways to do a Flash Dizzy Adventure game, but i hope to give DizzyAge a go for the next contest
I currently working on a demo for a remake of a very old AGS game with the Lassie AS game engine, hopefully it'll be out early next year
great site guys, i love the new versions {yolkfolk}
Its hardly a company.. we don't get paid! For the current project its a team of: me.. doing the backgrounds, Lassie coding and Flash CJ in Holland doing character art and animation Local friend doing voice acting And hopefully I've got the soundtrack sorted
Not forgetting the Lassie Engine developer and community who's advice often saves the day
I don't know if the present project will get passed a demo, The original plan was a virtually a flash clone of NOTH, but we decided to update everything.. the general feeling is we've gone to far lol, we'll decide once the demo is released.. plus theres something in the pipeline a lot more unique
I find the 3D Dizzy ideas very interesting, most of the backgrounds i do are 3D generated, theres an 3D engine Awakening, originally designed for web presentations that could do online 3D Dizzy, It uses LUA the same script language used by Lucas art's GRIMe engine, but I'm a modeler not a hard core game coder
I saw your 3D thread, shame it never came off, i tried 3D games with 3D Game Studio years ago, loads of big ideas but theres just so much involved, easy engine to use if you want Dizzy as a 1st person shooter! Scripting is my weak point, not many engines have 3rd person adventure games in mind so coding a system was always beyond me, Awakening has a really good world builder, but the documentation is pretty lousy if you have no experience in LUA
Anyway i'll check back n see if your site is back online
Welcome NigeC, good luck with the game. I think you'll enjoy the DizzayAGE, it seems very versatile from the stuff I've played from the various other members here.
