The latest remake from Yolkfolk.com is now under construction,

Dizzy: The Ultimate Cartoon Adventure

As it stands at the moment, the game map is completed, and work has just started on coding the puzzles.

Heres a quick peek at a bit of the game....

Expect the game to be released around the end of feb 2008 as i won't be rushing it due to other commitments i've currently got.

Although the game is rather basic when compaired to the others it does feature alot of moving objects which may become abit of a pain to code.

The three largest coding chalenges for this game as i see it will be the flashing objects, Scrolling messages and the way dizzy 'explodes' when he dies. {yolkfolk}

I'll update this thread as i progress with the game.

Cool! looks like feb/mar08 is going to be a dizzy fest! {yolkfolk}

Is this going to be a commodore64 conversion? I only played this on the amstrad, you couldn't jump onto the well from the ground in that one. probably just not tweeked the jump height yet!

There won't be a specific c64 converson, although there are no major differences between the 3 versions of this game. other than the badly drawn 'squashed' dizzy that appeared in most of the c64 versions, and different colours.

Nice m8  {yolkfolk}:thumb:

Will you be including the fancy border from the Commodore version like you've done with your previous remakes?

Looking good so far! {dizzy}

As I was introduced to Dizzy through the Amiga I've never really had the chance to play this game, so I'm looking forward to filling in this gap in my Dizzy knowledge.

Good luck with the remake! It looks great.
And indeed, we'll have a lot of Dizzy games coming, pretty soon.

Yep of course! Although i will be going further with this one and have the C64 and Amstrad borders available as well as the speccy one.

Also because this game has no ingame music like the others i'll be setting up a menu where you can choose between any of the other dizzy games ingame music to play duing play {yolkfolk}:music:

I've also got the ingame scrolls working.

actually, I was sure that dizzy did have in-game music. So I just loaded each format into emulators (amstrad, c64 and speccy).

The Amstrad version was the only to have in-game music and menu music
The c64 version just had menu music
the speccy one just had a 2 sec jingle when the menu started

when i refer to ingame music i am refering to the music that plays duing game play.
not the title music or the little 'jingle' it plays when you start the game, die and complete the game. as these have already been included into the remake.

The Amstrad version had actual ingame music.

but my remake is based on the speccy version, like all my remakes.

I can add in the amstard ingame music but it would have to be a .ogg music file making the download at least 1mb more than any other remake.

I specifically remember a remake of that being done.. by Tommy Pereira, I believe. It had a lot of glitches though, although the graphics were really impressive. Either way, your remake looks promising, good luck. {yolkfolk}:music:

that remake was done by me and tommy.

it was full of bugs, mainly due to TGF not being able to cope with the large amounts of GFX.
