Hi all,

If you could add 'real' music to Dizzy games, or to various parts of a game, what would you add?

I would add:

In a part with Zaks - Dragula by Rob Zombie

In a forest part - Forest by the Cure

In the Original Dizzy, where you have to add things to the cauldron - Smell the Witch by Mortiis

In a graveyard - Dead to the world by Nightwish

In a part with fire - Mein Hertz Brent by Rammstein

In a part with Dozy - I'm only sleeping by The Beatles

Thats my ideas, whats yours?

Nice music choices - love rob zombie one!

My favourite music is hardcore/trance/dance etc.
I can't seem to find any that would suit =p
So my personal choices (you don't have to agree lol)

Fire - I feel on fire - sy & unknown
Woods - Wilderness - Jurgen vries
Zaks - Enemy - Disturbed
Heaven - Closer to heaven - sy & unknown
Rescuing Daisy - Free again - recon (or fluxx as it says on youtube but it's wrong!!)

Can't think of any more.

lol i download that Mortiis album a few years ago.. i've lost it now, it had some really cool tracks on it.
I'm not a fan of 'industrial' which might sound suppressing as i've been listening to nine inch nails work for 7 years but its not the same.

Nine, i bought the full 4 volume cd, two hours of great back ground music for when I'm animating.
Unfortunately i didn't have £150 for the ultra limited deluxe edition.. which is a same those art prints and coffee table book looked a real treat.

Everyone has heard Dead can dance.. they just don't know it.
Most of the material pops up in documentary's or adverts and films. despite the band being no more since 95 (not counting the 2005 one off world tour)
Its just a pity Lisa Gerrard's film soundtracks (gladiator, blue whale) aren't really inspired and Brendan locks himself in this church/studio and never come out lol Oh well.
Well he surfaced recently.

If you could add 'real' music to Dizzy games Well, you can!
DizzyAGE supports the free OGG format (that similar to MP3).
The game pak will just be bigger, because you can't compress these music formats anymore.

does anyone have any suggestions for hauntingly dark background music? no lyrics, just a background tune with no real up-tempo bits in it, just continuously rolling along hauntingly.

I'm not sure if It's tunes ripped from another game you're after, but all I can think of for now are 2 Sega Megadrive tunes,

:egg: The Mine & Graveyard areas - Fantastic Dizzy

:egg: The Dark Woods level - Castle of Illusion starring Mickey Mouse

My choices of music in Dizzy games varies.
I remember when I was young whilst playing Crystal Kingdom for the Commodore, my mum had Blur's 'Parklife' album in the background which I mysteriously found fitting for the game {yolkfolk}
Plus, various tunes from Ozzy Osbourne's 'Down to Earth' album sound good for Dizzy too, well.......to me, lol

Oh and Jamie, congrats on your 900th post

I would prefer rock songs of Linking park and Nickel back. Because those type of music would make me much faster to play the game well.

Wouldn't there be copyright issues in using 'sampled' album tracks for the soundtrack of a Dizzy game?

Yep.

I might add some music from other games.

That's likely to cause copyright problems as well Meph!
