My notes are a bit scrawly, but if it's the pirate near the talking tree I think they say "use corkscrew, give rum, get photo (or could be plaster)

Luckily I found a clue in the guide that did help me!
He asks for a map of Skull Island. To see exactly what you need to do highlight the white text below
< The pointing skeleton talks about a photographer.
Go and find him in the acid dripping caves at the top (near the dragon).
Trick the man into getting killed by the dragon (nice!) and take his camera.
Take a photo of the pointing skeleton (the photo appears automatically (Like a polaroid).
Give the map to the Pirate
He asks for a pen so go back to the dragon and take the quill
Go to the Shop in Mice City and dip it in his ink on the table
Give the inked quill to the pirate
That's all I'll say for now, except at this point you might want to be carrying the stone of balance with you >
This Act really annoyed me. It was way over-complicated and too much travelling backwards and forwards {dizzy}:mad: . I didn't want to read the cheat guide but had to on many occasions as I got stuck frequently!
Things pick up after this Act and I completed it in a reasonable time, I even managed to get to number 48 in the top 50! {yolkfolk}:joy:
One other tip I'll say, Dizzy is able to duck down when he's riding things!
Damn, Does that mean Dizzy could duck when he was in the revolving carts that go past flames that spring from the walls. I got killed so often and thought that was just a random puzzle and you either got past or died.
I'm trying to replay this game but ......
No way can I get the diamond at the top of the lift in Act one. I've tried to get Dizzy to move slightly by tapping the arrow key when on the roof of the weather controller, but one tap too many and he just slides down the side of the roof, and you can't jump once he starts sliding. This is on both sides of the roof, so how Nowhere Girl did it I've no idea.
Also, in act 4 when I got trapped by the witch the only item I was carrying was the crowbar, which is now locked in her 'shed'. The hints said to use the crowbar on the shed. I've also retraced my steps everywhere but it hasn't been shunted elsewhere and ...I hadn't opened the well!!!!!!!!

right, i had this problem with the original act 1, and i've got it again.
how do you get out of the water? you can't jump out, the ledge is too high. if you don't have the correct item to get past the shark, you're trapped. there are two rocks in the water, but neither can be placed to get out.
also, you can't get past the shark without the item, however you can't get the item without using a rock, but you can't get out of the water once you've got a rock!

EDIT:: never mind....
How did you do this? Only way I can do this is by losing a life and starting back on the beach with the 2 rocks

can anyone tell me how many diamonds there are to find in each act? I'm starting to replay all these dizzy games and I want to find all the coins/diamonds etc this time round.

I just downloaded TOS v1.2 and I have to say I'm really impressed. Great job! {yolkfolk}:delight:
Of course now that I started playing it it's giving me a bit of a headache.
I'm trying to get to The East Tower (the screen where the flag is), but I'm totally stuck. I saw an older walkthrough and a map of the castle, which both implied that the magic gate in the A Magic Gate screen (formerly The Elevator's Pit) led into the clouds from the right side of the other The East Tower screen (not the one with the flag, the one with the clouds on the right), but right now it's going into The Dining Room...
Can anybody help?

EDIT: Tried it and worked like a charm, I don't know why it didn't look feasible at first. Now I'm on act 3 and I'm trying to escape the guards with no luck. It says I have to use the blade, but every time I try using it, Dizzy thinks he has to drop it and of course refuses to do so. And then I get killed... Can anyone spare a hint?

If I remember right you use the blade on the right side of the bridge when the guards are on it.
I'm such an idiot... I thought I was supposed to do something just as they show up (which happens in the previous screen).

I dont know if anyone can help? I'm really stuck on this Dizzy game and its driving me mad. I have got quite a long way through act 4 taken the picture got the pick axe etc. However i dont seem to be able to do any thing with the Cauldren to get a potion. I resorted to the help/guide site and this has confirmed what i though about adding the ingrediants from the cookbook. However when i add stuff nothing comes out. How do you get something out? The ghost and the maze are driving me mad. Not to mention i clearly cant get of this now fustrationg act! :wall: Sorry if im being thick.

Well, I'm having a wonderful time playing this game, super nice graphics, the music is excelent, and the story magnificent. I'm stuck with some rocks, a flag, a basket, balloon, and an apple. I am still in the first Scenario and I'm stuck.
