You are now able to download my entry for the 2009 DizzyAGE Easter Competition. I've tried to do my best to make the best game that i possibly can, whilst keeping it as fun and entertaining to play as possible.

I'm extremely pleased with it, much more so than i was with RRD last year. It's been a real challenge to make it, and I hope you all enjoy it! {yolkfolk}:delight:

Illusion Island Dizzy

Download the latest version (v1.15) from:

DizzyAGE website

Yolkfolk.com

The help thread is HERE

Story:

Dizzy and the Yolkfolk have decided they need a holiday, and set sail in a boat, bound for Illusion Island. Halfway there however, their small boat is boarded by pirates! Dizzy and the Yolkfolk are taken prisoner, and poor Dizzy is made to walk the plank!

Dizzy manages to swim the remaining distance to Illusion Island, and once there, realises that the pirates have stranded the rest of the Yolkfolk there too!

Dizzy soon notices that there's something not quite right about Illusion island, and even worse, Daisy has gone off to explore the island, and is now missing!

Join Dizzy to find Daisy, dodge the wildlife, and get the Yolkfolk off the strange island before the locals fry them!

Thanks

Many thanks go to James (DizzyFanUK), Annie (quiggie), and Alex (xelanoimis) for giving up a lot of their time in order to test the game to destruction. They found tonnes of bugs, and made loads of suggestions. Without their help you'd be looking not only at an inferior game, but also one that would probably have missed the deadline for the competition.

bah. in changing something last night, i re-introduced a small bug. it's unlikely anyone will come across it, but it's possible they may, so v1.01 fixes it.

your saved games will still work.

Sorry!

This is great so far! I've hardly got anywhere yet but I love the additional detail to the characters and on some of the baddies, like with the rats stopping and twitching their noses. The blowhole was an unexpected funny surprise too. {yolkfolk}

Wow! Great game but, as I am completely useless at these things, rather immensely difficult! I've wandered everywhere I can go like a dozen times and can't for the life of me find what I need to do next!

(Won't post in the help thread yet, though. Hoping something will come to me. But everyone else in there is already light years ahead of where I am...)

There may be a slight bug, albeit an inconsequential one. The sign in "Near the Forest's Edge" (I think that's the room name) is telling me I've found 11 coins, when the HUD counter says 12. Is it because one of them was given to me by Mr Kite, so I didn't "find" it, which would therefore make it not a bug? Just curious. (ETA: Also, when I try to drop something on Hooknose's grave, it says: "Your can't drop this here!" Should be "You" rather than "Your".)

Speaking of "bugs" (of a different sort) loving the Beatles references! At first I thought I might have to find a beetle for the benefit of Mr Kite, until I realized how many other Beatles titles were about! At this stage I wonder if there will be a reason for this, or if it's just a fun touch. (I suspect the latter.)

I'll come back to this game later on, but I've wasted about an hour jumping around everywhere trying to find somewhere I haven't found yet, but there's nothing. And I can't think of a single use for one of my items that I haven't tried yet. (Nor can I think of any place any other items could be hidden.) It's doing my nut in!

Fun, though! {dizzy}

Right, where do I begin with how far I've gotten?
Well, I now have 31 coins and the items I currently have are The soggy ice cream cone, some small twigs, a stone block, metal cutters, a woodaxe (which I used once), a banana (that 3 people rejected) and an angle grinder (which I used once).
{yolkfolk}:delight:

I have found shopkeep but I haven't used any coins on him yet.
