yeah thats another one of the series' strong points. Music.

most of it is so damn catchy. The Spectrum 128k Kwik snax music is my favourite of all of the games on all formats. (Of course the Amstrad version is the same music but with a few tracks cut out to fit into 64k)

Sad admission of the day: I figured out how to play the keyboard solo (from the intro sequence) on my bass...

My fave Dizzy memory was reading Your Sinclair to find that there was a second island in Treasure Island Dizzy.

I also think the flippers in Spellbound were a nice touch, as I really wasn't expecting them. Discovering The Illusion in Fantasy World for the first time was also pretty cool, although it took my mate and I about 30 minutes to get out of the bloody thing. Oh, and kicking Dozy off the pier. Many a time did I try jumping onto him as he floated off, in case there was some secret bit across the water...

That makes me think something - there were lots of random little secrets that weren't really hinted at in the games. These days designers tend to want players to discover everything, and make it obvious that certain things are interactive. As a kid, I think one of the fun things about the Dizzy games was imagining what might be possible, but if everything had been clearly hinted at then there'd be no point letting your imagination run off with you.

I couldn't agree with this more, and it's something that still gets me with Dizzy games now, especially as there are so many fan games. When I first started Winter World Dizzy, the very first thought I had on the first screen was "Hey! I wonder if I can get that barrel to float across the water and take me to a secret cavern"...

My fav moment would probably have to be the beanstalk in Fantasy World

I've got so many favourite moments in the Dizzy games, especially the old ZX Spectrum games. Here are some of my favourite moments...

Discovering the Beanstalk in Fantasy World Dizzy
This is probably the best bit of the game. I remember climbing up this beanstalk and having to time each jump just right. It was so easy for Dizzy to accidentally roll off and die, in fact this happened to me on more than one occasion
Discovering the Illusion Room in Fantasy World Dizzy
Another favourite bit of Fantasy World Dizzy is the discovery of the Illusion room, a room which I only discovered about 10 years ago after reading online where the last gold coin was located. It was fun trying to get out of this room, but on the other hand I remember wanting to stay in there as well :d:

Going down the Windy Shaft in Spellbound Dizzy
I was so keen to find out how far down you could actually get down the Windy Shaft in Spellbound Dizzy. I loved the way this game was structured as well. It was a massive game and this windy shaft served as the main section of the game. I loved the idea of having to carry boulders to get further down the shaft :d:

There are many other great bits I can't think of at the moment, but those are the biggest highlights for me.
