Ok, so as you'll be aware, i'm currently working on Curse of The Mystics. Now, by the time i've finished this game, it will have taken up quite a lot of my time - more so than a normal dizzy game, and there will probably be a lot more effort goes into it as well (due to the speech samples and all that). The final part, 'Return of the Righteous', will also no doubt take up just as much of my time.
So, due to both the time/effort involved, and the fact that it's (in my opinion anyway) quite a 'stand out' concept for a DizzyAGE game, i've been toying with the idea of making it a 'paid for' game, where you'd pay a small sum to download it.
My question to you all is simple. what are your thoughts on this? Would you be willing to pay for it, and if so, how much? I don't think i'd charge too much really if i did. i was thinking about £2.50 - £3.50 or somewhere around about that.
Regarding the copyright of the 'Dizzy' name etc, i would simply change the character graphic and a few other things, and remove all references to Dizzy. It would in effect become a completely non-Dizzy game. It would also remove the 'Dizzy Legends' prefix (i would probably rename it to something else).
If i did do that, i would also release a new version of TLoD for free (alongside the current version, not instead of), that would also have all Dizzy graphics and references removed, to keep it in keeping with the paid-for CoTM.
I am VERY aware that this community is built on - and kept alive by - free fan games, so trust me, i am thinking very carefully about this, and i do want to weigh up all of the pros and cons first before i make any decision. If you can think of any, please let me know.
I really would appreciate input from as many people as possible here.
Thanks guys! {yolkfolk}:dizzy:
