What editor are you using to make/change the tiles?
If you keep the Life bar etc positions in the same place you could make up the HUD using tiles already in the game

The only bad news at the moment is that I don’t trust myself to create a new HUD with my limited artistic skills, so I am considering leaving it as is, unless someone is willing to step forward and do it for me.

I guess I can step forward as a HUD 'doctor' again
Here's what I've come up with
I was going to give the characters my remastered colours, but I thought it be best to get your views on this one first. I know the characters looks blurry there, I was editing a JPEG HUD.
Now you may have noticed I've left the lives and energy bar on the HUD and darkened it a bit, It's kind of a good effect when you've lost a life or some energy during gameplay, I can always take them out if you're not keen on it.
And yes, I tested the HUD on a test DizzyAGE game this time
I did a HUD for Meph last year for Heart Land Dizzy, and I forgot to test it properly on a test game, with the room text box being too small, I did give him an updated version but he instead stuck to the previous version I did.
@ Lex_Headley: I use GIMP for all my tile editing needs. It works great, and is easy to use...even in Windows Vista!
@ Adz.M: YES! That is perfect! {yolkfolk} The original 'epic' idea for the title screen actually was going to be Dizzy running from the castle, so design-wise, this is PERFECT! My only complaint is Dizzy having yellow eyes; I'd prefer them to be white, like most creatures and in the original games. If you fix that, and allow me to use this HUD, I will be eternally grateful! I will also allow you to beta test, if you are interested at all!
No worries, I've fixed the eyes  painting them yellow has been a bad habit of mine since I was 9.
Here's the TGA file zipped, all you have to do really is replace the '1 menu.tga' file in your game folder with this one in the zip

Sure, I'll be happy to test the game out
what pixel sizes? Are you looking at 100x100 or 16x16?

I think 16x16. It should be standard item size; 2x2 tiles.
I completely forgot that the Spectrum didn't usually use disks! Oh well, a graphic of any old floppy disk type should work, whether 5 1/4" or 3 1/2" sized (I got that correct, right?).
If you're confused, don't worry. It will make more sense once you see the full game with everything in context.

Is the one in the photo the Spanish version?

Think you might be thinking of the original 128K Speccy, which was developed in Spain. The +2 and +3 were developed by Amstrad, and were very similar in design to there own CPC range.
Having said that, you are quite right, 128K is Spanish for 128K ! {yolkfolk}:raspy:
To celebrate Dizzy's triumphant return to gaming, I'm going to try to finish this thing!
It's been a few months. Where's my floppy disk? {dizzy}
Perfect. Thank you!
Now all I have to do is make a TGA of it.
Last night's coding was incredibly frustrating. I spent literally hours trying to get a piece of code to work, but no matter what I did, the results were the same. It didn't help that the problem occurred at the end of a long and involved puzzle. Finally, on my last try before giving up for the night, I fixed it. The culprit? I had put a semicolon at the end of the "if" statements. It was definitely one of those moments where you don't know whether to laugh or cry. For some bizarre reason though, I was more relieved and excited than angry and bitter.
But, it's working! Denzil is fully coded, now! {yolkfolk}:yahoo:
