I remember years ago programming in Cobol, you had to define all the variables at the start of the code in an area of code defined as the 'Working Storage Section.' - the full stop was very important - I missed it out once and I got an error in the compiler for every time a variable was mentioned, it went on for pages! :surprise:

I did a little more work tonight; I created a bunch of items that will be important for puzzles; I added some rooms; and I have some great puzzle ideas.

One puzzle should be easy enough to program; the other one...it's going to be a nightmare. I'm most likely going to need help with this one. I'll leave it at that, for now.

Bump. It's time to stop messing around. I'm going to finish this thing before next year's comp if it kills me!

Oh, my...

I just received an email from a major software website (Softpedia) telling me that they have added my game to their database! They sent me a link, and sure enough, there it is! They even have a download for my demo!

Now I feel like I REALLY need to finish this! It's the right thing to do!

Hey, guys.

Dizzy has been on my mind a lot lately, and, well...

I'm not going to make any promises, but...I'm thinking about resurrecting this project.

I've released a new demo with a lot of fixes and a bit of new content. Link is in the first post.

Will the full game ever see the light of day? Stay tuned!

Hi Arjak, I had a little play of the demo this weekend. Hope you finish it. I had one suggestion - why not put a collider in the water where you fill the bucket so that the bucket gets filled when you go underwater.

That's a good idea, Noggin. I'll see what I can do.

EDIT: I CONFUSED THIS GAME WITH ANOTHER "ESCAPE FROM ZAKS CASTLE", AN ARCADE GAME. BUT, IN CASE THE AUTHOR OF THAT ONE READS IT... I'll let it stay.

Care for a little feedback?
I really like this game and it really frustrates me a lot. Perhaps I'll just name the things I don't like: one minor inconvenience and one serious problem.
1. The music is too quiet. I like it very much, but when I turn the volume up to hear it well, the sound effects become too loud. I'd make it louder (more balance between loudness of music and SF X) or introduce an option of setting music and SFX preferences - it can be done in Dizzy AGE, so must be possible on the engine you use as well.
2. If I haven't made a mistake when counting the levels (btw, how about some level starting screen or whetever saying the number of the particular level?), I managed to get to level 19 or 20, but never got past it. It's already very hard. Being so close to the next password point and not getting there is really frustrating... Consider changing a few things:
- more than one life?
- or, alternatively: abolish the password system completely and instead allow saving the game at the beginning of a new level. It would be best with more than one save slot and a possibility to start a new game too (this way the introduction screen could have "Start", "Restore a game", "Options" and "Exit".
I haven't played this game recently, but I have given it a try several times, I played it quite much last spring, if I remember well... And I never got to password number 4, which is really frustrating...

It's because the DizzyAGE site is now linked directly to the Yolkfolk.com database and it now displays all the DizzyAGE games from there, and the Time Travel demo was never added to Yolkfolk.com's database which is why It's now missing from the DizzyAGE site. I'll sort it out once I find the demo.
