Finished !!! {yolkfolk}

However unless I missed some clues the magic chest seemed rather random and I only solved more than usual puzzles purely by just trying certain items in turn which helped being able to carry 4. Also some items were used more than once which came evident earlier in the game so meant you couldnt discount them being used again which was a little confusing. I didnt follow parts of the game {yolkfolk}

Although in the style of dizzy I felt it was rather different to the normal traditional dizzy game but liked playing as another character.

I noticed a few bugs:-

* The butterfly message showed up to move when wasnt on the bush you was actioning.

* I rode up the tower through the middle of the stone blocks after riding on the moving platform, I was on the edge of it so caught the blocks.

* Not sure on this one but I think you had to use the snakes charmers pipe so you could climb up the bank to get to the dip area yet I could climb up without doing this puzzle or using any items.

Were one or two others but sorry I cant recall them.

That banana item I asked about you give to old yellow, one of the sailor characters and you get some binoculars in return.
Use the binoculars by the red floor after the mirros/sun part then the megaphone. How you could work this out I dont know, I didnt, unless were clues I missed, was trial and error with items I had, the second part with the megaphone I sort of did, but no way with the binoculars, was just lucky trying the newer items acquired.

Sorry would have replied sooner except ive been out tonight.

Why do I always seem to have a problem no-one else does ?? {yolkfolk}

I have 31 coins, the last one is above the Temple Exit, but try as I might I cant reach it - there was a message when i first got to that room having completed the trials, but i missed it !! probably the clue i needed
objects I have
oil, axe, spanner, crowbar, binoculars, screwdriver, pickaxe, megaphone, green and yellow balls, conker, balloon, machete, pan pipes and wire cutters

cant seem to go any further without this coin, as the only puzzles i seem to have left are ticket tout, visa, cops, Red pirate and the Treasure - i know i need some fruit for 2 of these puzzles, know where to use the balls once i can find the other 2, but am now stuck.

can anyone please throw me a clue, thanks

Sorry FrogAndHat ...but that coin above the monk's head that you didn't collect before completing the trials is vital to be able to enter Magic Island - my bad!

There will be an update soon (waiting for some input from someone).

Sorry

aaaaahh just had a thought on the bell.............

Edit: yes, i am what i just had to use, now need to somehow fix the switch
still thinking of the fruit - maybe i had already used it ?? YES!!! :teethy:

Yeah! finished!!
Really enjoyed this, but in addition to the bugs noted above, i finished the game having turned the ticket into duct tape, but the game let me finish any way.
Great game Grandad, thanks a lot!

I'm being a total thicko here, I understand the concept of each trial having a number of candles that corresponds to the advice given by the monks, and I remember what they all said. But I'm having no luck with 'overcoming death' - so do I need to 'solve' something in the 'trial 1' room first {yolkfolk} because if so, there is nothing in that room apart from two teleports and a lift, and seemingly no space in which to do anything meaningful anyway! In terms of 'material possessions' all I can think of is something to do with the gold ring, but all that does is drop on the floor. Everyone else seems to have got through this part without any trouble {yolkfolk}:redfaced:

you are on the right lines - all you need to do is give the ring to the monk who you just spoke to

I was confused by this too, but there isn't anything you need to do in that room (as far as I know - unless there's something later on in the game). Go into trial room 2, and have a look at the candles - notice anything different about them? You should have an object you can use.

Also, it's then not that obvious that you've solved it - I spent ages running around thinking I had to do something else, and then decided to chance a jump and see - and discovered that it was ok.

The second trial is prompted by the clue 'when harmony is restored there is no death'.

Right, have fixed a few bugs ...and changed the 'first trial', now to play it through and if it's OK, I'll send Alex version 1.02.

Ah, makes sense! This is such a good game - it just keeps getting bigger!

seems OK, so have just sent Alex version 1.02 ..unfortunately, had to move the coin from the monk's head (but you can still jump on his head).

another way to have done it would have been to give that coin an ID, then change the O_Y position of the coin object at the same time you disable the monk, thus moving the coin object down to the ground when the monk disappears.

Thanks for that hint everyone, was a massive help and I've been glued to the PC for the last four hours solid  progressing further.

I'm now stuck at that last 'spring-loaded' hurdle though, and am wondering if I have tripped myself up through object use? The only fruits I can get at this stage are a tomato or an apple, both of which result in scrambled egg. I could have also had cherries, rhubarb and a lemon (and an egg? fruit??) earlier in the game, but not by this point with the use I've made of corresponding objects... {dizzy}

ah you'll have to think out of the box for this kind of fruit its not one of the most obvious ones - maybe thinking of horses could help find this fruit!!!!!

D'uh! How obvious. I'd been faffing around thinking about static brushes with a disabled dynamic coin ..but couldn't get my head round it, so ended up just putting it behind the monk. But, this 'solution' has lots of potential for the future. Thanks Jamie

Great game grandad, loved all the little idiosyncracies and the way that when you just thought you were getting somewhere, the game would get bigger and bigger! {yolkfolk}
