Well, it's not really that strict
But they do have to come up with some surprise twist.
[EDIT]
I've adjusted a bit to:
"All games must be new and released in 2011."
The idea have a longer and complex project.

I think this means you can announce it beforehand, but it must be released in 2011

Ahh well that makes more sense if that's the case, could do with clarification then so I understand whether mine would be eligible & for others if we did that..
I think the fairest way to do it would be the common sense approach of: The game must be released in the same year as the competition, and to have only one entry per person. For example, if I was to release a game next week, it would be a bit rich of me to say in six months time “Oh, I’ll stick that in the Easter comp” as everyone will have already played it and beaten it and forgotten about it by then. I like the idea of making something specifically for the competition.
[/quote]Yes, that's exactly the idea!
To avoid entering games produced too long ago and to offer people something new or fairly recent to play during Easter time. And that's why I announced the competition so early, so developers who now have new games almost finished, to have time to create new ones. Those who have games in progress, but they're far from finish them, could put in some more details and release them a bit later.
