OK, I've now been wandering round this valley for most the day rechecking all the little grassy areas being chased by hungry sheep, just in case I missed something. Not counting the map and bucket, I only have the wand of spells which I know where to use as the place said I couldn't use it yet ..and that potion of lies which I can't figure out where to use - won't work on the regret mystic and there's nobody else to try it on. I even tried to use it with the bits of paper on the ouiji board just in case I said something different ...and neither object works on the crystal of opposites. Hint please somebody!!

Gandad - a bigger hint in case my last post wasnt clear (but i think they crossed) - youve got the right idea, but you need to tell him something you regret - the problem is that you need to make that statement in writing

it's ok, it was my fault really for not realising there could be a conflict there. Anyway I'm also fixing a couple of other little things in v1.02 too.

No problem Dizzyfan, on the bright side it gave me a chance to check my notes on level one, so as I was able to drop items near the relevant spots till I had the right keys etc it didn't take too long to replay that level. But with such a large game it's impossible for testers to check every little thing otherwise you would still be testing it next year!!

Frogandhat, thanks for the clue. I think I realise what you mean, so now that my chores are done I have the day to myself and will check it out ...and if that doesn't work I'll have to have a really big think.

PS - is it just me, or does Dexter's new 'hairstyle' remind you of Mollari from Babylon 5?

I based it on the king's cape in TLoD, just darker.

I thought it looked like a cape. Good attention to detail throughout and pretty much all custom tiles. God only knows how you managed to produce this one. Good work.

I'm stuck now on level three...

I've got: A lit light bulb, A ships wheel, A sapling, Key to the kitchen, An ancient curse, A pair of oars, Rat poison, The letter E, The letter P.

I've tried all items in all of the locations I know of, that are available to me, with no joy.

HELP!!!

There are only a few tiles that weren't done especially for CoTM, and I think most of those were adapted from tiles used in TLoD. It takes a long time to 'draw' all the tiles, even though in CoTM i mostly used scaled-down pictures of materials (wood, grass, floortiles etc). They still had to be modified and made to fit the size available. Tiles like the crazy paving were pretty time-consuming to draw. There are reasons that the game took 10 months to make!

regarding your problem, who would use the first item you have?

Well I'm sure I speak for everybody when I thank you for another great game.

Regarding my problem, there doesn't appear to be anybody that I haven't already tried using that item on. Iv'e just gone wondering around the rooms I have available so far, trying that item on all of them, to no avail.

Hoorah ..I've actually got farther than gavlaa - and I think I've also sussed out the mechanics of the cellar (only took me 25 pieces of paper and 10 pens!!!!!!).

Listen to what your Uncle Jamie is telling you ...sleep on it and you may wake up with a bright idea.

And I'm still stuck getting nowhere at the beginning of 2!! I have literally done nothing further since my last post!

I have: potion of the present, blindfold, tins on a string, an empty bucket, dust, sticking plaster and a few books (natural healing, japanese philosophy, book of alchemy and book of the spirits).

I've solved: mystical ring of the gods, the hanged man and magician tarot cards and the witch who likes conflict.

The only puzzles that are open are: the mystical rings of saturn and the crystal of noise and I swear I have tried using and dropping all my items on these two to no avail...

Am I missing something very obvious???

If youve been able to cross the water, you should find someone who wants an item you have.

Are there any monkeypuzzles you can try?

Thanks for the advice but water???? what water???!!!! I think I am definitely missing something! I have only opened the village gate and the magicians hut.

I have been trying to use the blindfold on every monkey puzzle tree I have come across, granted I probably haven't tried them all but it feels like it! I just get "I can't use that here".

you need to use the blindfold

I've just started this level and got humped by a pig while talking to a witch.
Nice. lol

addicted - there is a book giving you a clue for the monkey puzzle trees - and the ones you want look a little different - they are darker

Meph - dont call them pigs - see my post above, we dont want to upset Jamie, or he might make some REALLY difficult puzzles in the next game!! {yolkfolk}:scared:

AddictedDizzy, make sure you explore all the grassy areas - I missed an important item for ages that was lying around in a field. Also, take Colin's advice about the 'sheep' when you enter the first accessible field - the key is in the Spiritualist's hut. If you can get a sheep slightly trapped by a path or a tree stump and can move out of the 'room' before it reaches the edge, it generally won't appear until you move back into that room ..otherwise Jamie has placed hedges in strategic areas so that you can actually complete this level without being touched by a sheep.
