Grogg Island Dizzy (HELP THREAD)

Thanks for Clarifying, I thought was strange with the plant, I have 'disarmed' it as you put it (with the required item, from the clue you gave frogandhat earlier in the thread), but yet the plant didn't do owt prior to that so was a little puzzling...was expecting to be eaten by it {yolkfolk}:joy:

Im just about to do the explosive work so when I get to the log screen I need an item I assume to get across it then (or should do), I will do that puzzle first then...

This game just gets better & better, really impressive, just reached the churchyard, loved the bone alter, that section is a bit like 'Indian Jones', some real great design for the gameplay {yolkfolk}:yahoo:

Thanks! I'd forgotten what that person had said - had tried the item there, but was standing in the wrong place when I tried it. All sorted now... not that I'm much further on, although I have some extra pieces of eight!

I know. At one point I even thought I was only looking for 8 pieces of 8, 'cos that made sense, and I only had about 5 and felt like I'd been doing really well.

OK, I thought I was doing well there, and now I'm stuck again!

I have the following items: sharp knife (used once), blanket, belaying pin, silver jug, spade (used a few times), claw hammer (used once), scaffolding, camera (used once), crucifix, feather, lighter (used once), catapult (used once).

I need to solve the ghost, the dual (is that a puzzle?), the Governor's house guard man, open the lighthouse, Dora... can't think what else...

Any clues?

I think you might need to use the belaying pin. If you can't think of what to use it on you may have to just roll with it. If you've done that maybe you should head west to show some respect.

P.S. for everyone: When you're about to use the item from G.I.T. make sure the music's on. It adds to the atmosphere. :smile:

Thanks! Found 2 uses for the belaying pin... I now have a hatchet and another banana...

No idea about the respect thing, but I'll have a think about it!

It certainly does, I like it, ive reached the pirate ship now. Getting tantilisingly close, up to 37 pieces of eight, a number of new items but been stuck for awhile now but im feel ive achieved well.

EDITS:- Wanted to add about the music, it's a lovely choice to add to that part of the game wherever you found it from.

Everyones in for a treat for these areas.

Need to visit the area where the palm trees cross & go digging (I assume you have the spade), with your new item too & then you may need to visit the blacksmith.

there is another object you can get where you are, not that the bear wants that either!

only sneaky coin I think you may not have is above the slippery log

to be honest, I am starting to get a bit fed up with this, as it is getting to point where it is almost 'try the object everywhere' until something happens :sad:

Thanks Lord Dizzy! I'm not sure I'm really any further on though... I had a hatchet, I blunted it, and then I got it resharpened! Did I miss something?
