This is FAR,FAR(loop it for about 10 more times) better than I was expecting it to be.What program are you using? Blender? Max3D?
How many hours it took you to finish?(more or less)

Whew...Looks like I'll have to do something with game engine, after all.Actually some is done:
-Basic movement
-Collisions with "hard" material(like ground)
-Jumping
-Item pickdrop(only 1 at time, for now)
-Example event coded.

But there's still a lot to be done.Right now, I have problems with dialogs, using strings in blender is pain in....neck.(but making additional itemsevents is super easy)

Dizzy9: Roughly about 2-3 hours so far. And don't worry, theres no rush, just thought it would be cool to work on something fun.

You really are making 3D engine?Can you show it to us? How can non programmer like me support you two?(I can't make models or program game)

Why sidescrolling instead of 1 person view? I find it very strange because it's 3D game, after all.Sidescroll sound like a waste.

I would like to remake Dizzy 1 with 2D gameplay but with a 3d twist... abit like Nintendo did with "New Super Mario Bros" or Sega did with "Sonic 4".

2D gameplay with 3D graphics.

Anyone can help or throw suggestions. Anything to support a Dizzy 1 remake would help. Grabbing old concept images or a compare of screenshots from either format. Anything and anyone can help.
