Just thought I'd let you know about a new game I'm in the middle of making and hoping to release just before Christmas as a bit of fun. It may not appeal to 'hard core' fans as it's not the usual 'quest' type of game, as in this game Daisy is trying to find and 'create' titles of UK number one pop hits ...such as having to get a sound system working to make the queen dance or having to find a couple of bricks to put somewhere specific ..but not on the old oak tree!!
It's not a massive game as my notes only include approx 70 rooms, but have managed to fit in over 60 titles and currently am halfway through drawing the map as I'm having to create lots of new tiles and the graphical style will be my usual brightly coloured but not overly detailed.
I've also decided that it would be easier for people to keep track of progress by having a 'big star' in the rooms that 'titles' can be found and actually printing the titles found at the top of the relevant screens and deleting the star when all titles for that room are found.
Anyway, feel free to look forward to it as a little Christmas prezzie or just go 'boring, I'll stick to watching The Sound of Music'.
Woohoo! {yolkfolk}:dizzy: Thats more like it, Grandad! not making us wait until next year, unlike some people! {yolkfolk}:meh: Looking forward to it, I do love your Daisy games!
OK, for the three of you waiting for my latest Daisy game, it is now complete and has been uploaded to Alex and AdzM for putting on the sites.
As I said earlier, there is a big yellow star in each room that contains titles, which will disappear when all the titles in that room are discovered, and the titles will be printed across the top of the relevant rooms. It's only 70 rooms big but there is a fair amount of wandering about trying to find those elusive no. 1 hit record titles, so have also included a few 'short cuts' to save on the footwear. Also, as it's just a bit of fun, Daisy can't be hurt or killed.
Noting the comments on the 'Dialogue' thread I've also put in brief descriptions of what's required by people when attempting to use an item on them after the main blurb as requested by DizzyFanUK.
Hope you enjoy the game even though it's not the usual 'quest' format.
smashing clearing diary for next week! nice to know daisy won't be wearing out her Jimmy Choo shoes as there are short-cuts  and not chance of being killed how refreshing {yolkfolk}:animwink:
Got 39 titles so far.. Never heard of most of theses lol pretty much guess work.
Anyway found a bug with the texts while trying to use the bucket again on the water,
And i completed the 'hall' room but i can't pick up the item giving to me by the dancing woman.. i never noticed it before so I'm not sure if it is meant to be an item or not.. ?
Sorry about that Meph, but looking through over 1,200 UK no 1 hits to try and find suitable titles when most of them are just not able to be pictured means you use what you can, however obscure.
The 'dancing woman' is the 'dancing queen' as she is wearing a crown and the only item I can think you mean is her handbag, but us 'townies' know that women often put their handbags on the floor by their feet when they're dancing so nobody can nick them.
Hmm, thought I'd sorted the bucket in the water so that the messages reflected that it could only be used once, and I'll have to check out the verger although I do know that she will accept the right item.
EDIT: using the bucket on the water for the second time is not a 'proper' bug as it's only the message that has '/N' so the engine didn't break the message into two lines, but you can still read it. I've amended the Verger so that she will respond to any item she's given after she has first spoken to Daisy. I won't upload a new version just yet, I'll wait and see if there are any more oddities that need sorting.
Another cracking (sorry... {yolkfolk} ) Daisy game. Is there really a 61st title ? or is it Dizzy's idea of a joke? EDIT - I have hunted all over and think it is - the only item I have left unused is the sheet music, and 3 items I have used a couple of times each {dizzy}
Really enjoyed it, never heard of some of the songs, and others I did think of I knew couldnt (or shouldnt) be answers (eg, i wanted to use the ladder in the chapel = Stairway to Heaven!) Great stuff and thanks Grandad! {yolkfolk}
Another wonderful game Grandad {yolkfolk} I played this yesterday and managed to finish it. Must admit a couple of puzzles were complete guesses. Is there a 61st puzzle?
i finish - great fun playing with daisy again thanks grandad - guessed quite a few titles as i was going along - began to give up on the oak tree one but then got the item - and that pete the perv seemed to like everything!! if there is a 61st title i think it'll be chasing pavements lol {yolkfolk}:yahoo:
I've sent an updated version to Adz and Alex which fixes the 'N' bit in the message with the bucket in the water and amends the verger to respond to any item once Daisy has spoken to her.
I've also amended the 'entrance' to the secret room that contains the 61st tile to make it a bit easier to find.
