Acorn A3000??

Taking inspiration from the "did this game exist" thread...

Does anyone remember playing anything interesting on this now very obsolete machine?

I cant remember exactly which Acorn we used (possible A3000) and I dont remember any Dizzy games on it but,...
... I remember playing a version of Chucky Egg, a Gravity Wars type game and a game which looked a little like donkeykong - where you climb ladders but there were big red and green round things (I know Im being vague but it was a long time ago...)

wow I remember that computer from school! Acorn was miles ahead of Microsoft (and Apple) in making a nice usable OS. From what I remember however the A3000 was pretty rubbish, with the A3010 and A3020 much better, and the A4000 and A5000 being pretty much the pinnacle of their machines (before they went bust!)

Don't remember playing any games on them tbh, although I do remember playing Lightcycle (a tron-clone) on the BBC Micro! There was also had a game called Tea Shop on it (where you had to make a profit selling Tea in a shop, surprisingly), which could be hacked to alter the text, so of course us being 14 and 15 yr olds at the time, it became 'Sex Shop'....! haha!

I only remember the BBC Micro from middle school, and I can only remember using that for the logo program for teaching geometry. We had 1 machine for the whole of our year! so we hardly got to use it much.

I'm pretty certain we had one at school in Germany.. i remember the red buttons but i could be wrong. In fact it was in the class room so may be every class room had one.. would have been about very late 80s.

I only thing i remember is it had a two player learning game involving 'Clowns' and the looser clown would get a custard pie thrown at him but the winning clown... i assume it was a learning game.

Might not have been an Acorn.. perhaps someone elses here has seen this mysterious clown game i have a distant memory of??

Yep something like that. No idea what the school was or were, i was only 6 or 7. moving schools every 5 minutes for a 3 year period was a nightmare.

yeah i can still remember quite a bit, and apart from the two german kids who lived at the bottom of our road and used to chase me and throw stones at me (i was on foot they were always on bike) everyone else were great.

Only annoying issue was each house had an interior door to the next.. so my bedroom had a door leadening into the next door.. plus you couldn't lock it and it just looked like every other interior door... never seen anything like it since.. i think it was in case of a fire, It's a god job everyone was friendly and didn't just wonder on in unexpectitly... lol odd.

But school hoping was a nightmare. especially as i had to spend 6 weeks here and 6 weeks there at a time.. no way of settling in... either that or miss school for long periods at a time. Kinda wish i knew exactly were we stayed.. but nobody seems to remember the name.
