DreamWorld Pogie is REAL.

Hi, about 10 minutes ago I was found a page on yolkfolk.com which had downloadable dreamworld pogie source.

When I opened archive, it was like "Oh, no!!"
but..name of files, and numbers of it was logical.For second I though it's too easy, but...
The only thing that needed to be done with sources was...merging files together..that's all.Oh, and change file to *NES.Header from Adventurer Dizzy plays it's role excellent.
And so, I'm first Dizzy fan to play this game(?).
I knew Yolkfolk.com and Dizzy.pl powers combined can overcome anything.
Since Yolkfolk.com is strict about downloading official games from internet I won't give ROM here.
But my site don;t care about such things.

I knew that news post would pay off. :smile: The link to the source code has been available since the beggining of June.

I've just looked at the video, the gameplay does look a bit Mario-ish in a way, I noticed towards the end that Pogie collected a powerup that turns him into some kind of werefluffle. :surprise:

Ahh, I didn't knew about the link to the source, too bad.
"A werefluffle"? nice name for it.
Game is impossible to finish-the exit is missing in one of levels.Maybe if I can break the level system...then I can place the doors in right place.
Game have some grafics artifacts.
Music seems to be fine.
If you play in 2 player mode, the second player will be some kind of....girl fluffle?
Maybe Pogie's girlfriend?

I've taken a look at the ROM, and yes it definitely feels unfinished, it would help if I knew if Pogie had some special techniques.

I did find out that if you hold A and B, you can move Pogie around, but only up and right for some reason. :confused:

The purple tokens that turn Pogie into a "werefluffle" seems to be some kind of limited invincibility with super speed, but it only lasts for a short time (very short!).

Also to choose 2 player mode, you have to press select to choose, instead of using the up or down buttons, which is what I'm used to.
It's one of them 2 player modes where whenever one player loses a life, the second player can start.
Like Dizzy9 said, the second player is a girl fluffle.....Pogilena?.....nah I don't really know her name :tongue:

I take it the numbers on the top middle of the screen was meant to be the score, I wonder why it keeps going up. :confused:
I wonder what the story would've been like?

It's the werefluffle! He actually flashes green and purple there. And the small doorway to the right, is the level exit.

Pogie standing next to a dinosaur egg, which appears to be a checkpoint.

Just like Dizzy, Pogie bounces on mushrooms.

The "level complete" screen, and Pogie does his victory dance.

From what I could make out, it looks like a fish bowl spitting out flowers.

And there's the girl fluffle, giving us a wave. :smile:

does look very mario-ish doesn't it? they should of at least made dizzy the main character if they wanted to try a game "mario style" - aside from super mario world he has nothing on dizzy

Hej, Dizzy9, You are very good programmer.Are you plan to finish this game? I mean add levels and contact Oliver bros for information?
Can fix bug of strange walk when you get invicible power up?

Oh wow, what a cute little game! Yeah does seem to be like cross between Dizzy and Mario. Pity it never got officially completed and released, would've made an awesome collection to the 16-bit games. I've had quite a bit of fun playing it just now.
