Thanks Jamie, i've used quite a number of tiles that have been created by various peeps over the last few years, extends your options from tiles to choose from but then it's thinking how to apply & use them in the design of the game when making one.

Looking good so far....had a little scout around both left and right. Managed to solve the first puzzle. Can't wait to spend a proper bit of time on it!!!! Oh yeah, Cannon Balls already battered all my lives once

I've notice i've left a water tile in the underwater section which shows green against the yellow ground.

Now removed & sending an update.

Adz, can you confirm when you have received and swapped over so people can download again.

Sorry all...was used to set the water play area, was placed where it was so I could see it to use but forgot to remove.

Pleased your looking forward to getting some proper time to play in due course. Hope you enjoy it !!

The first cannon ball is the tricky one, once you've worked out how to get pass it then be easier.
Glad they had some effect though

Only been playing this for a half hour but it's definitely my favourite of all your games, and probably the prettiest of any Dizzy game. Well done, another satisfied customer!

[/quote]

Thanks Pogie, totally agree with you it's the best production of mine by some margin & I can now feel content i've got one i'm really satisfied with, I thought I progressed quite a bit with SWD but I wasn't happy with the title and loading screens really (well all my games were a bit blurry on the loading screens as at that time was no way of avoiding as I didn't know how I could do any different...the problem was that you had to shrink it to a TGA file size), ok that's not the game itself but was a problem on some tiles too.

Anyway with a bit of a eureka moment I eventually worked out a way of doing the screens and keeping the sharpness (and I love this particular title screen, very happy with it). The production value therefore you can really see as a differance to previous. So just on load up your setting a good impression for the game and a more professional look.

I just keeping my fingers crossed on bugs, particularly any that would mean you can't complete the game. I hoping I haven't missed anything to cause that.

Cheers {yolkfolk}:thumb:

"Fingers crossed on any bugs or typos."

All right, here we go, I'll happily post any typos, spelling or grammar errors

Starting with the beginning dialogue, at one point DizzyBelle says:
"How exciting, an adventure Junior to find out what it means".

Looks like an entire part of the sentence missing... unless you meant "How exciting, an adventure, Junior, to find out what it means"? In which case it would be better this way: "How exciting, Junior! An adventure to find out what it means!"

And a few more:

Convo with Grandad Dizzy Dalton is missing ";" after "hospice"
and "," after "as you know"
in this sentence: "You and DizzyBelle will have to go see him in the hospice as you know he's very weak now",
and then you have "beable" in this: "Try not to tire him too much and he should beable to explain about it".

The room named "Stalacmites". There are stalactites (hanging) or stalagmites (rising). Unless it's a combination of both, in which case it would be a floor to ceiling (or ceiling to floor)

In "Kelwater's Lagoon" you have "It's lost it's bounce" instead of "It's lost its bounce".

Now I must get some sleep. Cheers!

Ok thanks,

Not sure I agree with all them but are very minor anyway so won't really need to a new version for, pretty clear on what is being conveyed.

The Stalacmites & Stalactites are the right way, I did check them.

Downloading now - bit late I know but I haven't been on here since the weekend. Turn my back for 5 minutes, and look what happens!
Problem is, I really need a good night's kip, but if I start playing this now, I know I'll be the one who is up til 3! And on a school night!
What to do ? {yolkfolk}

A typo is a typo is a typo, I just pointed them out :0)

And it's "stalagmites" with a "g", not with a "c", as in the room name  That's what I meant.

And no, I wouldn't expect to see a new version just based on two missing punctuation mark and a spelling mistake. But if, by the end of the game, there are 20 or 30 of each, well... Correcting them eventually would be a great favour for those of us, like myself, for whom English is not the native language. Everyone knows foreigners can spell better and I guess mistakes bother us more after putting in many years of learning your language

Ta!

Looks like Frog&hat has a colleague in Kirkub as they are both hot on spelling and grammar. I have a friend who is also a pedant when it comes to language ...'no, you can't say less when referring to a set quantity, you have to say fewer'. Most of us have problems with the old it's or its. I believe the general rule of thumb is only use the apostrophe when it's a contraction; leave it out for possession.

However, rather than pore through thousands of lines of code for spelling and grammar errors I believe there is a tool in Dizzyage that collates all the messages into a file which can then be edited and replaced, but I don't know what it's called. Perhaps it even deals with room titles too?

edit: just noticed Kirkubs spelling error ...'two punctuation mark' tsk tsk

Hi Quiggie, little surprised the help thread hasn't been started as yet but was released on a Sunday but on the whole I don't think the game is too hard as isn't many items to choose from at any given time and it tends to flow. Are a number of short cuts that can be opened up, you may have done some already as you sound you've already been playing for a bit. Hoped you've enjoyed your day off !!

As regards apostrophies & such like, I really couldn't be too fussed, but more that actual words I haven't mis-typed.
