The game is now with Alex and AdzM and should be available for download when they have time.
As mentioned in the competition thread, this game is set in 1972 and is a tale of the first time that Dizzy and Daisy met. Dizzy has a rather spiffing moustache common to a lot of 'trendy' men in those days.
The game can be played as either a 'family friendly' version for kids or those of a more delicate disposition or a more 'adult' version, which I'll leave you to discover all the joys for yourselves. You also play as both Daisy and Dizzy in both games, but in the adult version some of the puzzles are solved by different means and some puzzles can be solved in more than one way. I will add that there are no 'really bad' swear words, nor does Dizzy try to have sex with Daisy (or vice versa).
There are no hidden dangers in this game, no loss of energy, no death and no way to get stuck, but hopefully some of the puzzles are more mindbenders than some of you are used to.
I've also password protected the game, just in case Softpedia wants to try and crack it for reasons that will become obvious when playing the adult version.
I'll keep my fingers crossed that there are no major bugs.
Been playing for a bit, like the buildings & some novel animations & environment settings not to mention own personal tiles incorporated. Lots of ideas here {yolkfolk}:dizzy:
Having fun with it, the beagal running off with the sausages & whacking the mugger.
How come I can't find the game on the Yolkfolk page when I type "Dizzy Daisy" in the search box? I have to put the entire title in to get to it... Aren't the words in the title indexed for the search to help us find the game without knowing the title? I know, this question is not intended for Grandad; I didn't know where to post it though.
OK, the bugs are sorted, but I'll wait to see if more bugs emerge rather than do a quick update as the 'weight' problem needs a game restart even though it was just a coding issue. The bridge problem was just a silly error of not putting blockers at either end of the grass.
For new players, if you do try to pick up the weight again (in the adult version only) and you're holding four items the weight goes back to its original position not vanishes. Oh, and don't try to walk into the bridge when you're under it!
Not sure if this counts as a "bug" or just a fitting punishment for my own stupidity, but it's perfectly possible to leave the security guards keys in his flat and then walk out again. :wall:
Randomgirl, I'll call it a 'technical' bug as I said that you couldn't get stuck and thought that I'd 'covered' most areas where you need stuff to enter ...although it was a bit silly of you to leave the keys there
It'll also give me the chance to change the opening screen as I forgot to give Dizzy a moustache!
Hi Quiggy, I thought that you had just got to grips with my particular 'style' of game and were happily beavering away solving all the puzzles that were giving the others grief.
Version 1.01 is now with AdzM and Alex. The bugs it fixes are walking off the edge of the screen when under the bridge in Keldor. Stopping a player from dropping objects in Joe's flat, and ensuring that the weight stays put under the ledge when trying to pick it up when already holding four items. Plus, adding Dizzy's moustache to the opening screen!!
As these fixes only affect the first part of the game and will necessitate restarting as saved games can't transfer, those of you who have already got past these points should just carry on with version 1.00.
I found a way to get stuck. If you buy the fruit when you have four items you still buy the fruit but leave it on the counter. Not a problem. Unless it's the last fruit since the shop closes and you can't get back in to pick up the fruit.
