You have to jump down onto the table in front of the window then close it. If I remember right you jump from the shelf above the right shutter.

Just started playing this game. Is there any other item required to get the pickaxe? I honestly have been trying to get this for an hour and i can't see how it's even possible to land on the table as the window ledge and open shutters completely cover the table. :wall: :wall: :wall: Can someone put me out of my misery please haha
I was completely wrong about jumping from the shelf. You jump from the right shutter. And land on the left edge of the table.
[/quote]Cheers mate i got it eventually, God that was an awkward jump ha!
Finished, nice game and fun to play, few really awkward parts for jumping and took a while to get the hang of where to jump. Thanks for making it and hope to see more in the future {yolkfolk}:cheers: {yolkfolk}:yahoo:
Finally finished the game today, and even though I have quite a lot of criticism toward the game's puzzle and platforming elements, it was very well put together and a lot of fun. So fun, in fact, I went out of my way to compile a walkthrough for it. You can grab it, and post it to wherever such things might be posted to, as long as you don't take credit for making it :smile:
Fantastic Dizzy: Home Alone Walkthrough v1.0
I am spoiled by modern game design to the point where, quite honestly, I don't think I could complete the game without this help thread. Home Alone is full of seemingly simple problems, for which the player is forced to find very specific, often convoluted solutions. And while there are no instances of outright Moon Logic, at least one puzzle later in the game makes absolutely no sense.
The classic Dizzy platforming was often hard, but as far as I remember, it rarely required the epic skill level Home Alone demands from start until the very finish.
Still - good job guys! Now to try and beat Last Hero.
Having got stuck in Borderland having only managed to get across the water with the sign and can't find anything to do with the tree - apart from stand on a branch, decided to have a go at Home Alone.
Brilliant graphics, really clever puzzles - don't really like the pixel perfect jumps in some places, but having managed to get out of the house, can't figure out what to do next - and unfortunately cannot find a help thread for this game.
It was published in 2014, can anybody remember that far back :roll:
@grandad It's here. :smile:

The game's full title is 'Fantastic Dizzy: Home Alone', which might explain problems searching.
Can't remember what to do, but I think you next have to reach the upper buildings or explore the outdoor area a bit. It's been a long time.
Thanks Adam, read all five pages but still not sure what to do, I may have to light a different torch with the match to try and get that damned blue key in the attic, or find that pickaxe outside somewhere - still that's tomorrows problem. {eggs2}:bashwall:
