One more question - I noticed when looking at the walkthroughs on youtube that the inventory in CK doesn't have that box that says "CHOOSE ITEM TO USE OR DROP"

Should I delete it?

I'm fine with it being deleted.

Another aim mentioned previously is to also have the same inventory layout as the original game.

First off, a Big thank you to Noggin for spending time looking at the remake.

Major updates have been made to the latest version. Different link this time just so you're all aware.

https://www.yolkfolk.com/media/games/yolkfolk/CKDR(13.08.15).zip

- All the new main menu options have been added.
- The game now has the original dialog box border.
- The Energy bar no longer drains rapidly.
- Dizzy should no longer respawn on any enemies after losing a life.
- The Level Complete and Game Over jingles now play in parts of the game.
- The game now has the inventory screen from the Spellbound remake.
- The issue with the Acid drops are now fixed.
- The Torch puzzle has been recoded.
- With the Parachute in the inventory, Dizzy now glides has he did in the original game.

There maybe more updates I've missed out on the list.

I haven't had a proper play through yet but it looks like we could be looking at a final release soon.

Once I've had a play through, I'll make some changes/clear outs to the bugs list on here, hopefully no more bugs can be found on this build.

OK, I've had a thorough play, saving and switching music and colour settings and I can't seem to find any noticeable bugs at all.

The only minor nitpick is that the menu settings always resets to default when you Restart the game via the ingame menu and when you lose all your lives.

Now when I uploaded the last build a few weeks ago, I posted on the Dizzy : Retrogaming Facebook group about it.
And I got a reply from Jarrod Bentley - the chap behind the graphics for Crystal Kingdom who has also posted in this thread.
He said that he wishes that the 2009 title screen was used in this remake.

Much as I love that image, It's just that I don't know where to put the screen on the remake. Having it appear if you leave the game idle on the title screen is my only good idea - like how some Codemasters games did it on the Spectrum.

Any thoughts on this?

I'll give any other testers the chance to play through the latest build to see if they notice any minor bugs I didn't see. *cough* frogandhat *cough*

If nobody comes across anything, I'll polish off some of the climbing objects and probably fully release it. (And yes I know how to pack it and disable dev mode  )
