Tycoon Dizzy (HELP THREAD)

I'm really loving this game but everyone seems to have done well on this so far except me so I'm starting this thread!!

Thought I was stuck but sussed out the poison pond and it opened up from there, but I am stuck now. I have 12 diamonds with unused items :- Octopus, Indian rope, Chewing gum, Sign, Medallion and basement key. I think I've tried everything everywhere. I haven't found the whiskey or the Jesus sandals any clues?

You need to focus on the gum. Have you been on the other side of swamp with crocodile? That was my problem. If you have, you should find the bench. Jesus sandals aren't available yet, the whiskey is on the bottom of the ocean.

Oh well, I'm stuck too!! Apart from the 'safety' items: aqualung, jesus sandals, crab hammer, safety helmet, cross, umbrella and shield all I have is two medallions, neither of which seem to do anything. Ben the bum now has a caravan. but can't rescue the man on the raft (have sunk the ship) or cross the hot sands. I've got 25 coins.

PS, really been enjoying the game Andy, but found a couple of glitches: if you jump from the upper lift to the top of Grand Dizzy's house you get stuck between the roof and the upper ledge. Also you can jump left from the small ledge by Daisy's sunflower and land in the fork of the tree. Jumping left and going left you fall down two black, untitled screens and land by ben the bum.

My memory truly is terrible so i could be wrong here but i think you might be able to use an item you have on the ghost of the captain

Thanks a lot Grandad for your feedback! I guess I'll need to do an update. Well, Ben needs some more money... The first three bags don't need to be found in any order so I'm not sure which one you need but I'll guess either from getting a copy of the bible (from Emily in return for the ink quill) signed and given to the Chairman (the rest should be easy) or getting the wedding ring from Barabus to Dora. When he gets his next bag of money, the rest should fall into place :teethy: (don't worry about the medallions yet!)

Maybe in my update I'll drop some more (or some better) clues {yolkfolk}:thumb:

And Sparkles... the gum is used to vandalize something! And thanks for making this group, great to see people playing my game :teethy:

Can someone please point me in the right direction?

I have: aqualung, octopus, tube of bonjela, 3 in 1 oil, Indian rope, sign, bottle of whiskey, umbrella, thiefs hood, compass, medallion and hardhat.

WHISKEY -> UFO ;p

I'm nearly done. I have 28 diamonds but there are two I can see but can't get, they are:-
The one in the mothership up on a ledge. Have tried jumping but get electrocuted every time.
The one by the hungry fish. He just latches on and eats me every time.

Could someone let me know how to get them please?

For the one in the mothership i jumped on the vikings wooden shield as he was moving it up and down. Not sure how you would get it now if the viking is no longer there? For the fish one you can just walk and get it and walk away again without getting touched

Ah that sucks, hopefully you have an old save that has the viking there!

Oh no!! So sorry about that, Sparkles! To be honest, I did foresee this problem, and I tried extending the ledge above but there was no way without making it accessible from below. I considered putting a switch up there before I thought, well it's visible and players will all go for it straight away (also, I was rather proud of my time-your-jump-right-or-be-fried hazard! :tongue: ) Maybe it's too dependent on people having played The Lost Vikings... I hope it didn't set you back too far! And thanks for your lovely comments, I'm so happy people are liking it :teethy:

gavlaa - Ben the Bum was abducted when he had a drink in a yellow field by a not-so-big tree. Everyone seems to be having trouble here, I'm a little surprised. I must make this clue more obvious when I do the update!

Grandad - shoving the medallion there is probably no less obscure than giving the sign to God! That was the only part of the game I regretted, but people seem to be finding that one OK

Yayyy, so 4 people have completed my game now :teethy: eggscellent!

Grandad, the medallion is my homage to Fantastic Dizzy's prince symbol (though this may be a myth??). If you give it to Pirate Chris, you will get the Neverending Story theme tune. There are two clues to this. Also, having it in your inventory is an alternative to the Xanax for going safely into the swamp of sadness (although you have to get the Xanax anyway; I just thought it would be a nice touch for any fans of the film). Another example of having to "get" the cultural reference, albeit not one essential to the game. Took me over an hour to draw as well haha!

Ooh, did everyone suss out the hot sands puzzle easily enough? That's a Monkey Island homage :smile:
