I'm stuck very close to where Quiggie was stuck a little higher up!
I've got 48 coins (and I can see another one, as well as a key, outside the castle windows but can't get to them).
I can't get into the chest either.
As for the moving platform, I can't work out how to go right from the top of it, in order to reach the top of the castle. Can anyone help me out with this one?

It requires a pixel perfect jump from the platform to the left on the top screen. Jump left when you get to the top on the moving platform, then jump right from the very edge of that.

Thanks EgoTrip, so now I've got all the coins, but was a tad disappointed that the chest was empty! I'm not really sure what to do at this point, I'm left with the barrel, fire flower and watch.

After getting all the coins you just have to rescue all the yolkfolk and then talk to Theo.

Silly me, of course that was obvious. A nice little game. But was there any point in unlocking the last chest?

Ooops, sorry Armorog! I misread your name - I blame it on the fact I have a fractured skull at the moment.

Hi, well stuck as per usual. I have, fire extinguisher, hammer, fire flower, barrel, key (waste of time lol) & ink.
Tried to talk to Toads in houses, but no answer ( i need a pass to get past ghost). Can't get to Grandad. There is a watch somewhere as well. :wall:

The one in the house at the far left is the one giving out passes. If he isn't responding than you might have to go back and talk to the ghost again before talking to the toad.

All right... I gave this game a shot seeing as I finished Father Diz and Knightmare Dizzy, and I've played as much Mario as I have watched Father Ted and Knightmare, so it should have been a stroll... right?

Current status: left with the scuba gear, watch, barrel, fire flower - so is everyone else so I'm assuming they're useless - and 48 coins.

Five Yolkfolk rescued... but not Dora. I have not even seen the slightest hint of her. I have scoured the game, even in seemingly irrelevant spots like that empty tank, the empty sewer, the full sewer, DK's bathroom, jumping around in the trees on the screen with the five blocks, and the entire castle, including jumping into the death pit at the end on the off-chance there was something going on in there (compare Magicland Dizzy's well). Most of these will have done something once, had a coin in them or an object I've long since used, and the game is now all but bare of useful objects or any clues as to where I never went. And yes, I've seen the full ghost house.

Something tells me that where Dora is, so are those last two coins.

There's an airship? That I didn't see a single shred of evidence for after about two hours of wandering, jumping, more wandering, more jumping, even more jumping, and about 100 save states reloaded for every time I had to launch Dizzy at a pit that was obviously a death trap but maybe, just maybe, there was an invisible platform of the kind that had Proton Jon ripping all his hair out?

So, west to east, here are all the places I have so far tried looking for it:
- the empty tank, which I assume to be the end of the world with the unclimbable wall
- jumping on the roof of every house on the Toad village- - and the ghost house doesn't have a solid roof
- jumping on the note block as high as it'll go
- jumping in the clouds where Dylan was, which came from the note block in the first place
- trying to jump on the cloud above where the yellow switch used to be, which I can't reach from the pipe with the piranha flower
- jump here, jump there, jump everywhere in the woods, looking in vain for an invisible platform, because it's not as if Fantasy World trolled us with that one with the tree that Dylan was sitting under just so Dizzy could pick up a clump of leaves and find a coin...
- jump, jump, jump over the clouds in the Kong hills that are useful to get over the cliff and get us into the woods in the first place... there were coins up there, but every cloud I think I might not have jumped to to see if it leads somewhere else is out of reach...
- what about that block on the first Mushroom Kingdom screen, can we get onto that and onto more clouds? It seems not.
- jump at every cloud in Goombaland, even those that look insignificant. All that's in the screen above is bare sky with a cloud that Dizzy would need one of those sproingy mushrooms from Spellbound to get to.
- the moving platform in Goombaland that gets us on top of Bowser's castle... can we get to the platforms above them? Seems like a good place to park an airship. Too far away, though.
- jump from the top of Bowser's castle - after all, they were Bowser's airships in the first place. But the castle's nowhere near tall enough to cause a screen change... I've even jumped right, deliberately, into the Fried Egg pit in case there's something useful down there, such as a rat that can be charmed with some pipes that aren't in this game.

...it's going to be one solitary cloud that gives access to the airship, isn't it? One cloud that has no indication that there could ever be anything above it. It's Jet Set Willy II's Rocket Room all over again, which nobody could ever have suspected was there and playing through the first game where there was nothing above the Watch Tower made it even less obvious... but, lo and behold, we're on the Starship Enterprise!

So I'm still as stumped as a batsman standing six feet out of his crease with Jack Russell keeping wicket.

I've even been looking for an anchor with a chain - after all, that's how Mario got into the airship in the first place (though maybe just in the SNES remix). Haven't seen one, over earth, air and water... and castle.

Maybe I'll have a crack at Middle Earth Dizzy for a while and see how well (or not) I do there. I'M GOING ON AN ADVENTURE!

Hey Ironlord, you have to do a bit of cloud-jumping to find the airship. If I remember right, you have to start from the kong plains.

Got it.

So it seems it's accessed from a cloud that I was always falling off... and one that was deviously placed on the next screen below. Now hang on, Dora, I'm on my way...

...and we're done.

It wasn't quite the glass sword in the grave (who'd ever have thought of that without those expensive 0898 helplines back in the day?) but it was on its way.

Right, what game next...?
