Does anyone know what Armorog is supposed to be? In the 8-bit versions I get the impression he's a wild boar but in the Amiga version he seems like some kind of prehistoric mammal with a horn on his nose.

The Spectrum version of Spellbound makes a reference to "Armorogs" so presumably a made-up animal?

Maybe an 'Armored' 'Dog'.
On Amiga version he look like dog.

It looks a bit like a Rhinoceros and I think the name Armorog is a portmanteau of "armored" and Russian "Nosorog", meaning rhinoceros. "Nos" stands for "nose" and "rog" means "horn" (also akin to Greek "rhinokeros" or German "Nashorn" of the same meaning).

I think Gary had it right in the first comment ....'a made up animal'. After all, the game is called 'Fantasy World'.

Well i thought it was a hybrid of an Armo and a Rog, it was quite common during the 80s and cross breed those two creatures.
