To those of you who have read the "Let's Go Dizzy" book, you may have come across a few mentions of an unseen official game called "Mystery World Dizzy".
Well to celebrate International Dizzy Day, The Oliver Twins (with the special help from Team Yolkfolk) have unveiled the new 'old' NES game that nobody in the Dizzy Community ever knew about before!
Of course when an old unreleased Dizzy game is brought to life, that can only mean one thing....
These new/old NES Ports remakes remind me of the Pc/Dos versions that came out around the same time. Mysterious Realm Dizzy...oops i mean Mysterious World Dizzy :wink: looks good fun. I'm not really a fan of theses NES style/ports but it's nice to see another loose end tied.

Think i'd struggle on a small screen on a phone to play but tablet possibly.
Just had a little play online, getting to know the keyboard controls, always nice to see an official new game (or old) game. The old give the apple to the troll, stale bread to the rat. Looks a bit similar to fantasy world starting out.
Don't suppose it has a save function though so won't have time to time to be playing fully or trying to.
Does this game have a backstory? Like when it planned to be released? And on NES only or on Aladdin Deck Enhancer too? Maybe it was planned to included in some sort of compilation?
Other than Dreamworld Pogie i don't think there was any 'original' Dizzy games developed for the NES. Maybe Go, DIzzy Go counts but that was more of a sequel to Kwik Snack
From the sounds of what was said on Saturday the Olivers were equally surprised to find it was already finished and had been sitting in their loft all this time just waiting to be discovered. :smile:

Yeah it does seem that the NES Dizzy games were renamed remakes of the 16bit versions with the exception of Treasure Island Dizzy which shared the same game title.
Fantasy World Dizzy --> Mystery World Dizzy Magicland Dizzy --> Wonderland Dizzy Dizzy Prince of the Yolkfolk --> Dizzy the Adventurer Kwik Snax --> Go! Dizzy Go! Fantastic Dizzy --> The Fantastic Adventures of Dizzy
It almost seems like there was a trend in making all the 16bit versions into NES versions, which makes me wonder whether Spellbound Dizzy, Crystal Kingdom Dizzy, Bubble Dizzy, Fast Food, and Dizzy Panic were also planned for conversions. Dizzy Panic did manage to make it to the Sega Game Gear under the guise Panic! Dizzy, but it's a completely different game from its 8bit and 16bit cousins, not just a slightly tweaked version.
OK, question about the #IBEATDIZZY3 competition, which is to beat the game "without cheating"... the emulator allows the use of savestates, does that count as "cheating"? I have finished the game, but only using savestates, and I was wondering if that is reflected in the code that is generated at the end. I'm trying to get through it with the normal number of lives and there are a few seriously tough points, particularly jumping across the river coming back from the warehouse, which I am finding practically impossible to get the timing right to avoid rolling into the water...
Hi Robin. I took have encountered the same problem with the water. Save states are allowed and you can still enter.. All based on a working code and time.. and then it goes into the pot... :smile:

Yeah, I'm wondering if it's a glitch in the game. The fact that I can usually make the jump ok the first time, when going from right to left, but when coming back from left to right there just seems to be no consistent place to make the jump from without dying, with survival pretty much down to luck... just seems like a bit that doesn't quite work as it's meant to. Which is to be expected, given that it's all based on kind of semi-finished code as you say.
Yes good to catch up with you, also enjoyed talking to others I hadn't met before like Melanie (DizzyZone). Seems like with a few of us based in vaguely the same part of the UK, maybe some more informal Dizzy fans' meetup might be something to think about, even if it's without the Olivers?
Fast Food Dizzy on the PC was pretty much a remake too.
Oh wow i never knew Panic! Dizzy was a different game i always assumed it was the same thing. I'm looking at it on youtube.. never seen this one before, sort of game my mum would like lol. If it's unreleased i wonder if it's in the attic somewhere :wink:
