Forgot to post this, you probably know about by now the new Crash Annual. It will feature the Crystal Kingdom Dizzy remake. I never read Crash or any of the others.. was this better or worse than the alternatives?
Crash was probably my favourite Speccy magazine. In the early days Sinclair User could be a bit dry, and Your Spectrum was quite techy, whereas Crash was aimed at the gameplayer. And of course Oli Frey is a brilliant artist producing amazing covers. I remember even having posters of his on my wall back in the day. Good luck with this.
Chris has more than doubled the goal he wanted for Crash.. i've enjoyed all his books so far. Also they're saying if people like this and it's a success they may consider doing several annuals. They need to do one next year.. they'll have two Oliver Twins games to feature.
I've been reading the recent Crash this week, and there's a bit regarding the new games, and a review of Crystal Kingdom Dizzy remake (not sure what's so special about this remake? The Twins do describe all your/our/dizzyage games as 'average dizzy-fan games' which is a bit harsh as many are far from average)
Anyway, want i wanted to know is what where the original Crash scores for all the Dizzy games? i can only find a few online. And Zzap (as you probs know they're not running that on KS)
Looks like there will also be another Crash, and a second Zap net year too... awesome.
The mags needed great covers, and the games needed good tape artwork because the games always looked so naff most of the time lol Most of the time the art and music were better then the game itself. Although Dizzy being a exception because the games looked super good to.
