Hi Everyone

Great site.

I am a new member, so I am saying hello.

I have written a new dizzy game.

But I can not upload it to this site, it is over 5 meg in size.

If you want a copy then email me at [email redacted] asking me for a copy of the game.

And I will send you a copy as an attachment

When you get your email from me just open the email, click on the link where it says Dizzy In Bago Bago Island Packed.rar and it will download to your computer.

Its in a rar file so it is compressed you will need a unrar or winrar software on your system to open the file and uncompress it.

Then just open the file and extract it to somewhere on your computer like your my documents folder or your c: drive.

Then just go into your DizzyInBagoBagoIsland folder on your computer where you installed the game to and double click the dizzy file and play the game.

I would appreciate feedback and comments on the game.

I have given you 5 item slots in the game for the items you collect, if you think that is too much and 4 item slots would be better, then I would appreciate your comments.

It is a very big game, so I think you will enjoy it.

Well I hope you enjoy it. {yolkfolk}

Steve

Welcome, Steve.

If you like your game to be hosted on our site, you will have to E-mail it to me as we don't have an uploader for other users. (khaosadz[at]hotmail.co.uk)

If there's any screenshots or any other details like a Story etc. that would be helpful too.

You're welcome. :teethy:

Just so you know Steve, shortly after a new DizzyAGE game is released, another forum member will start up a 'Help Thread' in the "Fan Games Help" subforum when they're stuck somewhere in the game waiting for a clue or two.

To prevent seeing any spoilers in the Help Thread, most people highlight certain pieces of text in white. (like this for example).

Here is the Help Thread.

Hi James

I am glad you are enjoying the game.

I am very open to suggestions and feedback.

This is my first game, so i would like as much feedback and suggestions as possible, that's the only way I can design more games, and make them better, or different than before, I will not take anything personal, I will take all comments on board and it will hopefully make me a better game designer and programmer, my ambition for this game, was that everyone would enjoy it, and complete the game, I know its very hard in places, but there is always a way through, that you might not have seen at first, just a wee tip. {dizzy}:dizwink:

I hope it will give people ideas for there own games, and many people from the site or who join this site start writing games, first and foremost I am a big Dizzy fan, and I love playing all the Dizzy games, if someone like me, with no experience can read the books and design and program a game, then anyone can do the same, I have no artistic qualities at all ha ha ha  , and I had no programming experience either.

Thanks for downloading the game, and I hope you enjoy it, and complete it. {yolkfolk}

Thanks

Steve

Nice game, at last something without a huge number of doors. {yolkfolk}:joy:
But the graphics are without masks 'hurts' the eyes. Try next time to use a mask with most tiles. The picture will be much better.
Here's an example:

Hi Verm

My game looks so much better with a mask, thank you for telling me about it. {yolkfolk}

Can I ask you what is a mask, and how would I go about introducing to the game, is there a tutorial Somewhere?

I am already writing the sequel, to Dizzy In Bago bago island, and I would like to introduce masks in the Graphics.

Thank you for pointing that out.

I hope you enjoyed the game

I call "mask" - black border around the sprite with a thickness of one pixel and black fill inside the sprite. It does not allow the background to appear through the sprite and visually separates them.
Mask can be not only black. It depends on the style of graphics you use. For graphics in the style of "ZX-Spectrum" black is the good choice.
Here's a picture for example:

Another example:

------------
There is simple article at dizzyage site:
https://www.yolkfolk.com/dizzyage/articles/howto_tiles.html#photoshop
------------
Try to open other dizzyage games and study how they done.
Also you can download this zip-archive with all tiles from your game but with mask:

Enjoy. {dizzy}

Hi Verm-V

Thanks for translating my game to Russian, if you fancy translating my new game Dizzy's Search For Dozy I would very much appreciate it.

Or if you can ask Enigmatic to translate the game, that would be great.

Thank's again, and I hope you enjoyed Dizzy In Bago Bago Island, and Dizzy's Search For Dozy, I am developing a third game called Dizzy's return to Bago Bago Island.
