Well it's been a while...

So technically I'm new, but I'm really not. My previous username was delta, but somewhere along the line I got out of doing Dizzy games and into other things, and by the time I decided to check in again I'd forgotten my password (and changed emails), so I left it. But now I've decided to check back in and say 'hi'. Not sure when I'll remember to do so again! {dizzy}

These days I have a family and different hobbies, so I'm afraid you won't be seeing any new Dizzy games from me. It would have been nice to make Dizzy Legends Chapter 3: Silence of the Storm, but those Legends games took sodding ages to make, so that won't be happening.

Anyway, it's nice to see that some of my games got lower-placed rankings (behind all the eastern-European games) in the 'DizzyAGE Oscars'. Hopefully some people still come across my games and enjoy them, although it seems like there's not many people around these days. Still, life moves on I guess...!

Hi Jamie

Nice to hear from you and that you're happy. I for one, will always be grateful for all the help you gave everyone (especially me) in the early days in getting to grips with basic programming whilst creating some of the best fan games on this site - even if they did take sodding ages {yolkfolk}

I wouldn't worry about game rankings ...says somebody who took great pride and pleasure in coming last in all the annual competitions - in your case, think of it like the Eurovision Song Contest with all the political voting gong on with the 'eastern Europeans' leaving the western Europeans high and dry.

Steve

EDIT: Just read the other threads you posted on Jamie - looks like I have a thing about Eurovision ...and still think The Ring of Zaks was OK, but nothing special ...or do I just hate certain Russians {dizzy}

Hi Jamie, nice to hear from you. ...and yes, I'm STILL here!

A lot has happened here in recent years, mostly involving the release of of some new official games.
Codemasters being sold to EA recently has put Dizzy's future in doubt again, but we'll still be around whatever happens.

The Yolkfolk site recently had a redesign about a month or so ago, which involved rebuilding the entire games database from scratch! :wall:
In case you're looking for all your games on the new site, you can find them here.

True that the activity here isn't what it used to be, but that could mostly be down to some of them using social media groups.
We see fewer fan games nowadays too, save for an occasional one by Steve (Grandad) - who surprisingly didn't mention the 49 DizzyAGE games he currently has under his belt!

It is a real shame about Dizzy Legends Ch. 3, I have wondered how the story would've concluded, even it doesn't end up as a game.

I wouldn't be too put off by the DizzyAGE Oscars results, I still think your games did extremely well there, and will still be fondly remembered in the many years to come

Still, great to hear you're doing well Jamie, take care of yourself.

Thanks all! I'm glad I had a positive impact

I always liked a coding challenge, so it was good fun to work out ways of doing things.

Good to hear from you Jamie and certainly to see quiggie still here

As you know my games existed due to your tutorials and general help and was a period of time I really enjoyed learning and being able to make them. Like you other things have taken over, I lost my dad (you prob was aware) and i've taken over looking after my disabled brother, just general responsibilities and life in general keeps me very busy.

I'm not quite sure how you have the time to play all the games quiggie! I seem to remember you helped test some of mine, which I'm forever grateful for {yolkfolk}
