Is the software for updating the threads 'wonky'

The reason I ask is that looking at the 'recent' posts on the main page, it lists stuff that doesn't appear on the appropriate threads - ie Mabess on 'The Sisterhood', but looking at the sisterhood help thread, the last comment is about seven years ago ...I actually went back about three pages just in case the software doesn't automatically put new threads to the top of the list of topics.

The post shows up for me. I tend to use the Unread posts page for anything new.

But I agree that something's not quite right here though, I have to keep deleting the forums cache every time I remove the spambots accounts, otherwise the numbers don't register on the index page.

Hmm, I can read them if I click on the unread posts, but generally try to look at the whole thread as previously I missed out on a help request from Sparkles as her post wasn't in the 'top three', so I missed it for a while ...serves me right I suppose for making so many games that people were re-playing during lockdown.

PS - what is a spambot? Is it just a form of 'automatic spam' that gets sent to thousands of sites in the hope that there is an idiot or two who think they are being offered something wonderful because they deserve to be treated as 'special' people :smile:

Yup, pretty much.

Surprised you ask though as the old forum always had a lot of issues with those sort of bots registering and posting random and potentially dodgey content, at least this time I can delete them! {yolkfolk}:tongue:  

I will have a look at the back end of the forum to see if I can help this situation.

Thanks Andrew, Mabess's post has now vanished into the depths of the site as it's not in the top three and I've rechecked 'The Sisterhood' both in fan games generally (about 9 years ago for last post) and the help thread (last post by Sn Trooper 7 years ago)

OK, I know what's happened.

For some strange reason, there's another Fan Games Help forum with a different URL, it isn't even listed on the dashboard so I can't delete it.

But, I have managed to move Mabess' posts to the visible Fan Games Help forum, so you should now be able to see it.

Are you sure that Zaks really was a fictional character? :x_x:
