Treasure Island Dizzy (Atari ST) Graphic Rips

Here are my rips for TID.

This one stored its sprites individually and not as entire sheets within the data hence why each sprite was ripped separately.

I converted them all into one sheet using TexturePacker free version, I have also provided the individual sprites for completeness.

I made two versions, one with alpha channel and the other with the original background.

I never knew enough about special programs or ripping techniques, so for my alternative versions of the main games I cut and pasted the pictures from the actual game into Corel Paint Shop Pro and then painstakingly removed the background, made the alpha copy and then used the tools on DizzyAge to make them into sprites for the game... which took a long time {eggs2}:pcgame: .

I assume that this is a much easier (and quicker) way to make the 'tiles'.

Easier for me, though not necessarily quicker.

What you gain in the "graphic" result i.e. no manual cutting, pasting, arranging etc using art/graphic packages (which for me, I find overly complicated), It takes time to disassemble and study the code/compression algorithms to work out how to write programs to extract.

Personally, allthough I appreciate the art produced in these games, my enjoyment is the challenge of figuring out the code to best extract the original representaion of the assets.  This also makes it easier to reproduce maps for example when you also work out the mapping data.

Come on, I made it easy for you and put the dimensions in the filenames

I'm sure you'll enjoy the challenge :teethy:

I think so. {yolkfolk}:joy:

I only missed out the HUD because the colours were a bit off, I could've gone onto the game itself and ripped it from there and modified it, but for some reason I didn't feel like it. {eggs3}:wonder:

You're absolutely correct!

Being colour blind I didn't see it at the time.

Maybe there is a raster colour/palette change in the code I have missed.

I'll check it out when I can.

All fixed, I was right I missed a VBL palette change.  I've ammended my top post links.
