Some observations about the updated site

Hi, I don't know which section to write about this, so I decided to write here. This information will probably be for site moderators. I like the new look of the site, it has become more informative, but I noticed one oddity in his work. When I log into the site as a guest, I get to the "The Dizzy Community Forums" page (https://yolkfolk.com/communityforum/). Next, I select the section I need, for example "Fan Games" and go there. There, in the "Topic Title" table, various topics created by users are listed. Each topic displays the parameters "Views", "Posts, "Participants". When I go to the topic itself, the parameters "Posts", "Users", "Likes", "Views" are also displayed at the top. But the number of the "Views" parameter " is already different, and as a rule, it is more than just what it was on the previous page. And the same effect with the number of the "Participants" parameter. But when I go to the site already as "Members" (online), then this there is no effect and the numbers of the "Views" parameter in the "Fan Games" section and inside the theme are updated immediately and they are the same. But when I exit through Logout, the number of the "Views" parameter becomes what it was before. Maybe this information will be useful to you.

Hi.

Thanks for your feedback and experience on the new theme.

I'm still testing random things and features out with it, which is why it keeps switching between the new theme and old theme at the moment.

The 2022 forum theme which wpforo introduced last year is said to be more efficient and provide more details than the old theme.
I'm hoping the reason we don't have working private messaging right now is to do with it disliking the old forum theme. {yolkfolk}

I'm still hoping for the return of the date/time stamp of the last posting on each thread - much more preferable to the pictures of various avatars and a number which means nothing to me {eggs2}:contract:

Yeah, so far that's the only fairly annoying thing about this skin, and I'm not sure if it can be changed. {yolkfolk}:ded:

What I have found out is that you can still see who last posted for each thread, but you'll have to click on the thread itself and it will tell you on the top of the page underneath the thread title - which I accept can be quite annoying having to go from thread to thread. {yolkfolk}:scared:

Agreed Adam, very annoying and defeats the whole purpose of 'glancing' at unread threads to see if any tickles your fancy.

If it can't be changed perhaps the next best thing is to expand the list of 'latest threads' shown on the title page; that way people could just scroll down to see if there is a thread that seems interesting.

...and while I'm being a Moaning Minnie, can the 'new' label be attached when there are new posts - which is how I often notice requests for coding or game help but no way am I going to check each heading just on the off-chance there's a new posting.

Of course, scrollling to see all new postings on the main page would be just as useful... hint to pass onto the site moderators Adam :-)

It would be nice if I could see if my reply to someone's post was read. For example, mark it with a double tick.

Hi, I noticed another strange thing about the site.
When someone replies to my post or writes a comment on it, I receive a notification (bell icon). This is very convenient because I don't have to check if there is a response to any of my posts. But if I am not the author of the created topic, then a notification about a response to my post will not come to me, but to the topic creator (Topic starter), and I will not know about it.

And accordingly, the opposite example.
I created this thread in which I am writing this post, and here there are posts from other site members who communicated with each other. I did not participate in their dialogue, since their dialogue did not concern me, but I receive notifications when one of them responds.

Hooray! The site finally started working, and I already thought that the problem was in my phone.

At the bottom of the page visible part of some table.

And also, there are no Dizzy emoticons.

Hi Lightning...

We will get this sorted.

I had to look through many plugins and additional scripts behind the scenes to see what was slowing the site down etc.

They will all be back and I will look into the feature requests.

Kind regards

Andrew.

Hi, I found a strange moment in the site's operation.

I went to the site online, via "Login" and wrote a post in the topic "Dizzy In The Well" (branch "Fan Games"), then I left via "Logout" and found that the post I had just written had disappeared. I went to the site again via "Login" - the post was there. {yolkfolk}

It's a great idea to add a "Who's Online" window, but the data update of this window is very late. For example, mine shows that the member EnthusiastGuy is currently online (21 June 2025 12:03), but according to the data on his page, he was on the site - Last seen: 20 June 2025 22:46

And another line - "Currently viewing this topic 1 user ( Sparkles 49 ) and 1 guest."

Although the member Sparkles 49, also according to the data on his page, was online on the site - Last seen: 20 June 2025 19:13

Perhaps this information will be useful for the site's system administrators.

Good job on new theme and bringing back the "lastest posts" list on main page, your efforts are very appreciated.

Sorry to ask this, but is there a way to P.M. someone?

Thanks!
