Hi - I've just got a new laptop - moving things over including Ko Tapu files...and I now get the message that the game was made with DizzyAge 2.2 but I'm running DizzyAge 2.4. I didn't get this on my old machine - any thoughts?

Oh, and also - The epic edition (as it stands) takes aaaaaaaaggggggggggggeeeeeeeeeeeeessssssssss to load - I guess it's because I create individual tiles rather than a tile sheet? Any thoughts on what else might cause it?

Thanks All!

[/quote] Hi,

I once launched a game created on DizzyAge 2.2 and also got a message about it, but in DizzyAge 2.4 the game worked fine. I have Windows 7.

I also noticed strange work of DizzyAge 2.4 in Windows 11.

I launched my game (Dizzy's Amazing Dream) in Windows 11 and found that in one of the rooms for some reason a dynamic object disappeared - a spider with a web. I did not check the game completely and do not know what other changes appeared in it and I do not yet understand the reason for this.

In Windows XP/7/10 the game works fine and all dynamic objects are present.

Perhaps the reason is in the Windows version.

@oo7samurai - Don't know for certain, but it could be a simple case of trying to open it with the wrong version of dizzy.exe that was designed for DizzyAGE v2.2.

Try replacing it with a different dizzy.exe file from the another game.

Thanks @khaosadz - I'll give that a try - I bet that's it!

Thanks too @lightning - that doesn't sound good about vanishing dynamic brushes...and I'm a looong way from testing 🤣

You didn't quite understand what I wanted to say. I didn't suggest you test the game (you probably thought about my game), I said that games created in DizzyAge 2.2 work in DizzyAge 2.4.

But, DizzyAge works strangely in the Windows 11 operating system, and as an example, I described a case with my game, in which dynamic objects disappeared.

If your new laptop has Windows 11 installed, then it is possible that it somehow affects your games.

My fault - I don't think I was clear; I just meant it was worrying that Windows 11 might mess games up, as I indeed now on a windows 11 machine. I am particularly concerned because I'm working slowly on the 'epic edition' of Kotapu - which is really just an extended version of the original. I've not played any of the old rooms for ages - so, my worry is that I might need to think about whether anything has been impacted...but that's a problem for next year though I think.
